I post things I'm interested in here. So you will find thinks like hiking, motorcycles, Amateur Radio videos, and possibly some computer related items. I'm not much good at video editing but one of my goals in posting videos is to get better.
Hello- If I change the setting in my service menu it does not remain at the new adjusted setting when I repower the unit. Is there a way to make the setting durable?
Im 67 just getting back into it. found a 2017 with 900 miles.. IM back into it!!! LOL cept seat, I love it , but mostly the weight. others I looked at least 80lbs to 150lbs heavier.
I set mine to 185 a while ago and have been happily running FT8 at about 80 watts, although I'm a very "light" user of FT8 and never call CQ. The fan still comes on - even when just on receive - but not as often as before. I guess the bottom line is, if you can't afford to replace your finals you shouldn't mess with replacement fans or service menus, but for most hams this is a moot point.
Hi, I have similar noise from my FT-710 fan. Do you think we hav "standard" fan noise or this is the worst case? My people report that they not hear the fan, it would be interesting to listen that level of noise
Hello! We're creating a new compilation and we would love to include your video on our social networks. Can we use it? We'll make sure to credit you properly
You’re the second person to post a video of their FT-710 sitting on top of their FT-DX1200. I had a 1200, excellent radio, but I sold my house and move around so much I got rid of it for a 710.
Hey! Your clip caught our attention, and we think it would be perfect for our new compilation on our social networks. Can we include it? We'll give you proper credit.
Hi Anthony Compton! Can I use your video in my video plus comments to help people learn lessons so they can drive safer? I'll put your name on the screen, thank you for reading.
I have seen more than a few videos where people put the Yaesu radios into service or calibration mode. I understand if you are benching the radio for a tune -up or after the replacement of finals, etc. but I have seen 3 people already in my area who have done this but never noted the settings before tinkering.... saving the radio memory onto the SD card or in the case of say a 991/a saving to an RT systems file does not save these configuration settings. The second you see the screen where you can make changes, snap a pic, write it down or both. Yaesu will take a long time to send it back to you if you mess it up and it costs a bit to get that done. Just my 2 cents for for what its worth.
No argument about recording the settings, my original reason for the video was to have record of all the settings. It's worth noting that the radio backup does not include the service menu settings. The easy way to get those on a 710 is to do a video capture as you scroll through the settings.
Thanks for posting this. I have the loud fan issue. Its louder than the cheap power supply I use as a back-up. Runs even when sitting idle for about 20 minutes then quits. Then starts again 5 minutes later. Quite annoying. My IC-7300 and ft-891 do not have this issue. Buddy of mine has the same issue as you . He wrote Yaesu and has received no reply. This was 2 weeks ago. I believe that Yaesu is aware of the problem but simply won't directly address it yet. I'll be watching for updates.
If you get a moment, maybe post a video of what your fan sounds like. I hope to collect some data this week as well as make a short video of what my fan sounds like from the front and back. Even my FT-891 is quiet on RX and it has much less heat case to absorb the heat. I know it's picky but something is not correct.
Hey Anthony Compton, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix
@@Flies2FLL The irony of you calling prius drivers arrogant on this video, and thinking the word rhetorical has any significance to anyone, is palpable and sad.
Why does the manual recommend such low shift points? I just bought a Versys x and it's am odd feeling to get used to shifting low so I may do like this guy does and shift more in the feel of the engine
That is correct. The Motorcycle Song (Significance of the Pickle) I think is the full title. Arlo Guthrie is a very inventive folk singer. I always get a kick out of his music from the '70s.
You are correct. There are several revs of this song, this is the first one I know of the explains why he doesn't want a pickle, since they are all about the motorcycle I just call this version the the pickle song.
I’ve been riding my 2022 for just over a year now and love it. 16,000 km and no issues except a sore butt! I added a sheep skin and a couple of 1/2” layers of closed cell foam and now the rear end is happy too. It’s the smallest bike I’ve ever owned and my favourite so far.
