"The bear went over the mountain the bear went over the mountain the bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. To see what he could see To see what he could see. He saw another mountain He saw another mountain He saw another mountain And that's what he did see. The Catskills remind me of that song. I ❤ the Catskills.
Thank you for explaining some of the names. Funny, the Fox weather channel was talking about Fishkill yesterday. The reporter had asked the studio host of the meaning of "Fishkill" since he was broadcasting from there. The host said it was a terrible name because she thought it meant "Dead Fish" ! He also told her the meaning of "Kill" in Dutch. The stream near my parents home near Pine Bush (east) is called "Dwaarkill" that flows into the Wallkill River, but strangely there is another stream north of Pine Bush that starts in the "Gunks" that is also called the "Dwaarkill" but flows into the Shawangunk Kill.
Native North American or European settler/invader names, not weird. The Hudson Vally was first settled by several tribes/nations of Indians then by the Dutch & in turn the English. In Onondaga County, place names are often Latin or Iroquois: Manlius, Cicero, Skaneateles, Cayuga.
@@adamnavarro6130 When we were there we sat on the rocks right next to the water. I don’t think they’ll bother you as long as you don’t go in the water
What’s the whole point of dressing up like aliens and putting on stupid shows, it’s just making people think that it’s fake and they won’t believe it that way.
Hey Joel! Thanks for this, I didn’t know you had a RU-vid channel. We homeschool our kids and we love hiking the stone church!!! We are always looking for more kid friendly places to explore so I will definitely be watching your channel. Thank you!
Hello Joel. I'm doing a UFO Tourism series for The Observer Magazine. I'm wrapping up an article on the Pine Bush Fest. Can I include a link to this video in it? I'll send you a link to the article when it's posted. Thank You.
This HAS to be Ralton Lewis! I knew him when he was much younger, he was a good friends of my late wife's daughters back in our Rhinebeck, NY days. I agree with etrigan68, Ralton is a truly great guy. I used to see him sailing along with grace when I'd do my daily walk on the streets of Rhinebeck. A town treasure.
I and my fam just visited Art omi recently. I see the inside of the gallery from your video which is closed due to pandemic. That would have been so nice if we were able to see the gallery. Thanks for sharing the video. I just subbed!! :) stay well!!
I like your vids!! Looking forward to seeing more from you. By the way, go and search for SMZeus. It’s a handy tool to have when you’re trying to grow your social media, RU-vid videos, website etc.
I've enjoyed the ice cream at most of these establishments, Joel, but I'm also going to give a shout out to your local Stewart's Shops, where I've enjoyed the ice cream - and gasoline - since moving up to the Hudson Valley over 20 years ago. What I particularly like is buying a two-scoop waffle cone and not feeling like my wallet weighs less than a feather after I've finished paying.
@@hudsonvalleylifestylereale7756 [Between you and me, Joel, there's little difference among any of these places, although the product at all the independent ice cream parlors is better than Stewart's. What's just as good as any of them is Jane's ice cream, available within walking distance of me at Village Pizza in Rhinebeck. And make sure you check out Fortune's ice cream in Tivoli, featuring a few rather unique flavors. You won't be disappointed.]
I agree and I do think places like Boice's and Del's who actually make their own ice cream have a better product. I haven't checked out Fortunes but definitely will (thanks for the suggestion). Janes is very good but they should open they're own store. My daughter used to sell Jane's in Catskill. I frequent Village Pizza a lot for lunch but only occasionally for the ice cream. Thanks for your comments. Maybe I'll do a follow up video :D
Even in Europe there is no joking with rules that severely limit private property too !! With the excuse of privacy that only hinders the people, while governments manipulate our data as they please; are we all puppets? Anche in Europa non si scherza con regole che limitano fortemente anche la proprietà privata!! Con la scusa della privacy che ostacola solamente il popolo, mentre i governi manipolano i nostri dati a loro piacimento; siamo forse tutti dei burattini?
