Welcome to my world of model ships and replicas. I'm a disabled ex biker who gave model ships a go to help pass the time and soon discovered that building model ships was one of the best therapies ever. Not only does it help take my mind off the constant pain I feel all day, but it also helps keep my hands busy and my mind focused. Model ship building took all the negativity and transformed this into something positive and constructive. What was only meant to be a hobby to help me get through the days soon became a passion and without a doubt a great mental healer. The rest is history 😉👍👍👍👍

I have reached the stage on my own wee Revell HMS Bounty where I need to do its deck. This is a great, easy to follow tutorial you provided here, thank you. I'll give this a try. I don't have the exact paints you had there but something similar.
just an observation, look at images of cutty sark, victory, warrior in fact any ship the decks are not brown they weather down to pale grey. most modellers assume A wooden deck so it must be brown. Tamiya deck tan is a good approximation. not wooden deck tan.
Helped me a lot thank you; I know need to find an easy way to run sailing ship rigging since size is like sewing thread. Drives me absolutely to drink.
Hello, I have subscribed and watched your videos several times to help me build mine. Many thanks for this. I just wish I had your build skills however I'm managing to build a model that looks fine, from a distance. Perhaps there is one thing you can help me with if you have time to respond. At 39 secs into your video I can see the netting jig. I have done the same as you but cant find any way to make the netting joins stick together and it looks a mess with my attempts How did you manage to get the netting to stick and what glue did you use? Thanks for any response from yourself or anyone else reading this
Well done RJ. Absolutely brilliant description and demonstration of tying rigging. I shall certainly feel a lot more confident when I get to that part of the model. Thank you so much mate.
Breathtaking. This is what we are all aiming to achieve.... congratulations. I have been trying different wood effects and was pleased with them - until I saw yours.
Really enjoyed this demonstration on lashing the shroud, very neat job, as a matter of interest whey are you wearing gloves, is this to prevent staining the scale rope, liked and subscribed today. 👌👌👍
Just building the revell hms Bounty. It's my second ship. On the first one i used the plastic ratlines. Wasn't happy with the result. So now i wanted to knot them myself. Thanks to your nice tutorial they turned out perfek. 😁👍
hi ... what size is the black rope used to do the side rigging as i have had this kit as a christmas gift and your name and pictures are in the back of the manual ... thanks mick
Fantastic video and explanation, this is so much simpler that other videos I’ve seen. I've been trying to find a video on planking and how to bend planks, is this something you could demonstrate in the future?
Hi! I’m Ken from Canada, beginner in boat models, just did a small one! And I should have in a couple of days the same models, the victory limited edition! I will follow your channel really close!
My grandfather got this kit for his birthday a few years ago, and he worked on it a little bit until he started going downhill and eventually passed away last year. I want to finish this ship since we built a lot of things together over the years, and he gave me a great headstart on it. I wouldn't want that to go unfinished and undone :)
At least in the USA, those are "Half Hitch"es...not "Cow Hitches". What you call a "normal knot: is called an "overhand knot". Two overhands make a "Granny Knot:. This from someone that sailed Merchant and Navy ships for 18 years.
