Similar experiences with white river marine and mercury and ranger boats…my motor blew up on first outing…3 months later they replace motor but transfer warranty from original motor to new motor so 33 month warranty not 36 mo…more problems with new motor and ranger boat itself and dealer..some things not repairable…many many shop returns. Johnnie Morris doesn’t care. White river marine no customer service or support, same for mercury, and ranger rep no response. Nobody cares after they get 70 K. Now 3 years and would never deal with ranger or mercury marine again
Customer service is everything thats why there is no boat on the planet better than gator trax they build the best boats money can buy they also have the best service if you want a trouble free boat go see kent saxon springfield Louisiana
Word of advice: don't go all out right away. Make a cheap, bare-bones setup, use it a few times, and see where you put things and want to set things. I have already made some changes from what is in this video, and I am finally happy with the side that houses the AC and power.
Jc, I'm 57, a diehard bass fisherman etc. But as I was aging, I noticed I didn't have the energy I used to have. I went keto and my energy level is back, weight is low and all things are good. A friend of mine did the same thing and he was pre diabetic at the time and was recommended medication by his dr.. After he went keto and limited his carb intake, his health improved dramatically and guess what? No meds whatsoever. The culprit is sugar. It's in just about everything we eat and drink. That's how the gov't controls our life expectancy. It's unfortunate that it took 55 years to figure this lifestyle change but I'm glad I did. Trust me, cut the sugar and carbs out and you will improve dramatically. Carbs turn to sugar if your body doesn't burnt it, which turns to fat. When you're in ketosis, your body reprograms itself and now gets it's energy from burning body fat! The first 2 weeks are the hardest. After that, it's all mental. Jc, keep it up. I too have the 198 p. Craftsmanship was fair. That's another story but not as hectic as yours. I ended up buying a phoenix 721 pro xp. Customer Service is excellent and I love my phoenix. I had an issue with the 4 bank charger system. They mailed me a new one after 1 ph call and I had to mail the old one back. Like I said, I love my phoenix boat and their Customer Service. Well wishes to you.
The curadok 4.7gearing is such an amazing swimbait gear setup… that reel can help keep the bait in strike zone longer while keeping the same action as a higher gear ratio.. such an amazing move Shimano has done.
Ice fishing is definitely an "at your own risk" activity. While it's not the most considerate thing for those boats to do, it's not unthinkable or unforeseeable as an ice fisherman. Gotta be smart.
I have a 2018 rt188 roughest riding boat I have ever owned just a little chop will beat you to death I didn't expect glass boat ride but didn't expect a flatbottom duck boat ride either should have never sold my champion
Iv seen guys fishing on slush...just tossed a couple sheets of plywood samiched together with a couple holes cut out..and tubes through the slush to pull fish out of!
That is why I sold my last Ranger after 22 years of supporting them and went to Skeeter. BPS took the Ranger dealership from my local shop and service went to hill. Local shop got Skeeter and Xpress, and I immediately got rid of my ranger after the first major warranty problem I had and the headaches they caused
Side note, I have a 1999 Forest L Wood Ranger I bought brand new at a boat show. I have fished it for 25 years and I never had one issue. I have blown the og. Motor twice and repowered in 2017. I paid 27,999 in 1999 for a brand new 19’8” boat with a 200. Isn’t it amazing how things have gotten? Those 90s 2000s era boat were built like a tank.
Its a real shame too, because they are actually really good looking and well designed boats. I think its just they pump so many out none of the boats get the love and care they individually need and it results in shoddy work way too often.
The one in this video, I got up to 65mph, but it was the wrong prop for the engine's RPM range it needed when I got it there. Once the correct prop was put on I was seeing 55mph with full load and two people with one person I was seeing 58. The newer hull is slower then the one in this video but you will see low 50s. I am selling my 2022 currently
@@charliemclaughlin1042 definitely not somewhere me or my wife want to be then, she wants to try out Wyoming. I do like the idea of hunting some mulies and pronghorns out there but I’m not certain yet.
@@rhettmathis4844 primarily my wife wants to leave to somewhere with more mountainous areas and i want to go somewhere with more variety in hunting opportunities. Wife suggested Wyoming and it appears to have what we both want. And i know people mentioned the winter there is long and brutal but I’m all for some good snow and wild winds
I have thought about this a lot. In light of what happened to you, I honestly believe if I found myself in this situation I would hire a pro welder to do the repair and move on. Life is to short for the time lost, stress and all the BS that went along with it. Back on the water next week sounds like the right solution for me even though it is wrong to have to do it this way.
Ranger is not Ranger any more. Johnny Mart changed it. Hell they just laided off 170 employees. The bottom line is all they care about.!! Buy a SKEETER
