Terra is a modern day treasure hunter. This includes rocks, crystals and gems, thrifting, upcycling, traveling and some other modern day treasure hunting. Treasures are all around us, if we take the time to look.
For RU-vid, it is best to dedicate your channel to just one niche. There is an audience for rock hounding, and another for thrifting, and another for wildlife. Most people will not want a channel with 2- or- 3 completely different topics. They just want one topic, and will not be interested in the others (affecting your viewer analytics, and confusing RU-vid on how to promote your channel). It is fine to try more than one topic at first-and then decide which topic you like more (or which topic seems to be getting more traction). Look at channels with topics you like, and how large their audiences are, and how they cover their topics. You can make more than one channel too, but I recommend only one b/c just one channel will keep you more than busy.
@@missy2j it’s pretty satisfying to get it to where it’s supposed to go! (Also when I didn’t know which video this comment was posted to I thought “that trip” was maybe up the gorge. ;)
Those are gorgeous sunglasses. Absolutely love the look. Thanks for the demo. It kinda reminded me of the Lock Picking Lawyer when you used the tools. ❤
@@AtomicAmy would you believe I broke them the day this video came out?!?! It was near the end of my rock hunting adventure on Lake Michigan. RIP pink sparkly sunglasses.
@@amandawright6801 thanks! It was really fun (and a tiny bit intimidating) to trust that I wouldn’t be buried in stuff I couldn’t handle and to see what did come in!
Thank you for cleaning up the trash. Talk about leaving nature better than when you found it. You've got me excited to see if I'm learning how to spot what you're seeing. How fun. Teaching me to look around at the world a little differently. ❤ Also, so funny on the "ok, so"... I do this a lot too... When I lived in Mexico, I'd often shorten it to "k, so" and then realize it sounded like I was saying cheese in Spanish, really slowly. 😂
@@ScienceisRadAF thank you! I’m excited to share the adventures with y’all and maybe inspire someone to slow down, practice gratitude, thrift, do a diy project or go rock hunting. 🥰
Congratulations on your exciting venture. We're traversing a strangely similar path, even down to timelines and positions. So you have my support and I know just how much courage and drive you're putting into this! Will be here to see you thrive!
@@AtomicAmy weird. I had a comment and then it got deleted. Tell me more! I’m curious how our paths are similar! Thank you for tuning in and your support.
@@TerrasTreasure You mentioned running a repair program and that it lost funding about a year ago, as I'm writing this on the 12th. My route is similar, but a little different in that I had worked with a non-profit organization for 7 years and it finally lost the funding it needed to survive. That happened last year, and while I had a bit of a segue to another position, unfortunately, the ominous changes that I think were happening across the board in tech also caught up to the other organization I had "moved over to". And roughly around this time last year. I'm still making ends meet (comfortably) as a gig worker in tech, but my heart is now chasing storytelling and writing. It's different, but similar, because based on what you're describing as your thought process, the work you've been putting into this--which we have yet to see, because yeah, it's an amazing process that you're undergoing right now, to take your whirlwind of hopes, dreams, and you, and then invest in that through time, resources, tears, faith etc.--so I just have to say I recognize the path your taking in a sense. It's also funny because around October is really when I began to commit to writing in a more serious and determined manner. So, just some interesting timeline similariities. There are many RU-vidrs who I have discovered even in just the past year that have risen to exciting levels of viewership and impact, so I know that you can easily do the same. I know that I will enjoy learning all kinds of cool stuff I've never known before through your journey.
@@AtomicAmy this is awesome. I wish you the best too! I wish everyone could just comfortably pursue art or service or whatever calls to them. I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic and just do this because it’s something I feel I need to do. I’m loving the creative process and learning new things. I’ve always loved to learn new things! And honestly, I’m so happily surprised by the support I’ve gotten so far. I briefly had another RU-vid channel in my past and I just feel so much more grounded this time around. My creativity is surprising me. I guess good things come when you let yourself believe in good things!
@@missy2j I’ve found some good stuff I’m excited to share. I also am just really enjoying the creative process. It’s fun to be thinking up new ideas for projects and treasure hunts and videos for the future. The video editing is so fun too. (If time consuming!)
