Dude, got to take care of yourself first. Living just over in Georgia, working in a metal shop in 93 degree heat with 64% humidity I know what you're going through some days. Sometimes you just got to quit and recoup. We will be here when you're back at it. Keep up the fine work, next video that thing will be fired up!!!
Love the fiberglass dash/center stack/console. The engine looks great too. Paint matched block, three dueces, finned valve covers that are also color-matched. I'm gonna go ahead and approve.
Outstanding progress LT. Got to take care of yourself, brother. I'm glad you got looked at. Men, we are great at taking care of everyone and everything except us. We tend to push it off. Thankfully, that's starting to change.
@LTscustomgarage Did it my whole life until I hit 50 and started having to take care of myself. Now, playing catch up with my health. Sending out the positive vibes, brother.
So close! Great progress, and super clean work. Sorry about the vertigo! That must have been really annoying to deal with. Glad your flippy tricks helped clear it up though. Stay hydrated and keep up the great work! 🤙
Violet is the starter wire in GM cars. They're usually purple or yellow. A LONG tima ago, someone old me that like RWD and 4wd were one color, and FWD was the other, but I don't remembere exactly what they said.
I'm fine now, thanks. Was kinda scary there for a little bit though 😆 I don't know how prepared I am for that 4 runner yet, but if you wanna send some info ltscustomgarage@gmail.com I'll check it out.
I'm not afraid of projects. Might be looking for something pretty turn key though, we'll see. Needs motor work is a great excuse for a cool engine swap
Thank you! Yes, yellow is a better option for fuel fittings because its denser, but all ptfe tape is resistant to gasoline. If these ever develop a leak or need to come off hopefully I'll have yellow around again, or I should probably just go buy some actually
@buliTnotBot thanks for lookin out I'm just a clown in the garage so I'm sure do things wrong alot 😆 anyone in the comments would appreciate a correction or a better way to get something done too I bet. Thanks for hangin out!
Great progress LT, its better to take your time at this point. First start is a stressful time and everything needs to go good. I went with the flexi hoses for the radiator though to make life easy. lol 😉👍
I had one on my impala. I was just really hoping for a certain look on this one. If this one leaks, chances are ill end up with one on the LUV too. Hoping to start it this weekend, but you're right, gotta be patient and make sure it's ready
@@LTscustomgarage nice, I have one on my 307. I’ve rebuilt it twice now, still have a slight hesitation on my accelerator pump I can figure out but ultimately it still works and drives good. I can’t imagine trying to get 3 synced up lol 😂
Yeah that'll be another fun adventure. They worked well on another 350, I've been careful not to change anything hoping they'll just work just as well on this one 😆 wishful thinking
Man you are so so right on about the flaring tool set up i am the cheap tool kinda guy but man when you use a real well made tool its night and day are you putting electric exhaust cuttouts on?
Closer to firing it up at the end of the video than you were when it started! I agree with the radiator hoses that are universal. Me and my buddy had to make one work because that's all we could find. We were also wiring at the time and had some braided wire loom on hand so we covered it with that. Worked great and looked good, and my buddy is pretty picky. If you go to In The Shop TV and watch his making custom radiator hoses video he shows exactly what I mean. We had done ours before seeing his video but same idea only we used a narrower piece of shrink tube to "seal" the ends and a T-bolt style clamp to clamp it. The T-bolt clamp hide the shrink tube and made it look very neat and clean. Looking forward to the next vid with this thing running.
My understanding is that regular teflon tape isn't ideal for contact witth petroleum products. But the yellow teflon tape is supposed to be. I'm no expert, I read that when researching some stuff I was doing in one of my cars. Just my $.02
Fact 😆 I'll be honest, I like how that one looks on that engine. Especially since I know I won't be able to find one that looks like it truly belongs to it.
I went through a few different hoses myself from the parts store that didn't work. I was trying to avoid those types of hoses. I bit the bullet and bought the same style. They lasted about 2 days before a small leak, but I didn't use the hair spray hack😂. I finally found some traditional types that worked though
First starts are always a nail biting, did I get it all event... Check it once, twice and 5 or six more times. It'll be awesome. Looking forward to it...
That is a nice touch. When you get stuck in all that hot weather just remember what winter used to be like. Come January you can probably still go to the beach !
Dude, great vision and ideas! Every time you made up your mind on something, I was like YES! Especially grafting in that original piece in the middle. Luv it!
