As you stated the tools that you use are important but why didnt you use the already there asphalt as the base? Why throw throw that away and buy stone? 😕 I'm stupid, you let me know lol
Hey Dan, came across your Janus video via their channel. I am a motovlogger riding out of Norwood. I ride a black & orange 2009 H-D Low Rider called the Bug Smasher. Haven't made it down Charles River Rd, but until recently commuted past Dover in the summers to a job at Nobles Day Camp in Dedham, where I worked for 21 summers. I wonder if you were perhaps riding down 109 toward Millis a short while back? I saw my first Janus in the wild and shouted. My wife thought I was crazy haha. I am a big Janus fan, although I've never been up close to one. I recently finished reading (and reviewing on my channel) The Rambler's Companion, by the one and only Richard Worsham. Anyway, if I should happen to see you in the wild, I'll give you a shout! - Matt
Hi Matt, Yes that was likely me you saw on 109. I ride down that road frequently when I go for a ride to no where in particular, my favorite destination. I live in Norwood too. If you see me be sure to say hello.
Thanks Wendy, the driveway is holding up well. This is the 4th winter for this driveway. I’ve had to do minimal maintenance on it. The maintenance being resetting a paver occasionally because it had been lifted due to ice pushing it up. This type of driveway isn’t good for plowing when it comes to snow and ice removal. I’ve never had it plowed, instead I just shovel it clear and for heavier snowfalls I clear it with a snowblower.
Nice documentation of the build. Thanks for sharing. A couple of questions. 1) Do you use a ramp to move the bikes in/out? 2) How much for the materials to complete this job?
Thank you so much for your videos and your channel. I really appreciate it. I’m going to be making pavers for a raised flower bed. Can you give me an idea on where to get stone dust? And maybe post links in the description on where to get the materials. That would be really helpful for me. 🙏
Thanks Joy. I purchased the bulk of the materials for this project at a masonry supply company near me. A good place to start would be to do a search online for “masonry supplies near me”. A good supply place will even be able to help calculate how much of various materials you’ll need for your project.
Amazing work!!! Where did you get your dye? I bought a property and we are building a wizard of oz themed house and get to name the roads and even pave them however we want since they are currently dirt roads. We are the only property owners around for 30 miles and we want to do cobblestone for the block or so around our home. So we want to do yellow brick and red brick roads.
Good lord man... I am doing a 37 foot just like this to my backyard for my RV. 37x2.5 was a mofo... I can't imagine 72 feet!!!! Literally DOUBLE! lucky for me, my next door neighbor needs about 5 yards of dirt to level his backyard!
I Hate Expensive pavers! They Always Shift and Sink and Weeds, Nightmarish Hell, give them to the religious people that want the Hell!! They just Stink! Try jacking your car up on pavers sink BAD. Consider stamped concrete instead! Professionally done here and what an attractive guy! But..I'm sorry, Pavers..... StinK
