Having just cracked open 96 cowberry switches moments ago, I've realized the best tool for opening them is the top housing of the switch itself. Use tweezers to get the first one off, then use that top housing on all the rest. It went pretty fast!
Hi, the cotton its the same than polyfill. The idea is to remove some hollowness in the stock sound. In my experience there is no difference with the Tape Mod in tray mounted boards.
@@jpbulbulian Thanks! Just did both right now and put tape inside my spacebar keycap, it sounds significantly better, but i put way less polyfill than you and didnt put it ind the baterry part, is it ok to just fill the whole thing?
That is a good idea, I will try to fill the spacebar with silicone. Its very clacky right now. I put all the polyfill than I can. Now I note a more solid sound.
This keyboard arrived yesterday, took 1 day of shipping and it was at my doorstep. Got nothing but good feedback on this guy, been answering all my questions about modding - been really helpful, gave me good advice about starting to mod on my own - last, but not least. This keyboard, is f*kin heaven to type on. It does not only feel smooth, but the video sound does not justify how good it actually sounds. You got hands of gold my friend, thank you so much again!!
Wholy shit dude, that was exacly the video I've been looking for. Subs just for that!! Was mods do you recommend and which ones you think aren't worth it?
Hey buddy, I'm glad you like the video. In my opinion, the most important modification is the lubrication of the switches, the stabilizers came very well from the factory. Then, the switch pads on the PCB are a matter of taste, I like the poppy effect it gives. And the poly filling is to eliminate some of the hollowness, but it's optional. I'm impressed by how cheap this keyboard is.
@@jpbulbulian Thanks for the tips! I'm also really impressed by the value of this keyboard. I'll definitely take your advice and lube the switches, and probably add some filling to improve the sound. By the way, have you ever considered or experimented a rechargeable battery mod somehow? Or has using AAA batteries never been an issue for you? Cheers mate
Gran video, yo tengo este teclado solo que al 100% y la verdad es un gran teclado, ya es viejo pero es de gran calidad y parece como si los años no le hubieran pasado, ojala siguieran haciendo estos teclados.
Very nice video. I have a problem with the same keyboard, maybe you can help me out. When I play one game I press shift, ctrl, space, wasd a lot rapidly sometimes all together. Issue is one button randomly becomes stuck (not physically) and character runs in one direction like its pressed but it is not pressed. Pressing it again does nothing. Happened to q, wasd keys only so far. When I alt tab the game and open notepad pressing the button does nothing, rest of them work fine. Happened one time in windows while browsing i got multiple inputs from the same wasd key the after some time it stopped on did not work afterwards. Reconnecting KB fixes the problem, but in the game it happends very often like every 5-10 min. I have tested another KB and did not encounter the issue. Do you have any recommendations?
Hi my friend. If it only happens to WASD, it looks like a switch problem. Maybe the metal leaves are loose. Get a batch of 10 replacement switches and try replacing them. The keyboard is very easy to open, the difficult part is desoldering the switches, try to get good tools. Remember, this keyboard only supports 3 pin switches. Tell me later if you can fix it. Greetings from Chile.
@@jpbulbulian Thanks for the answer, no i happened to Q key also. I am thinking about cleaning switches with air can and dripping contact cleaner in there.
I think I overlubed this, it was my first batch, at that time I didn't know how to do it. Today I have more experience, I will try to wash them with mineral spirits to remove some grease.
I choose this for the crystal clear thing. I wanna a board with shine trough keycaps. One positive things is it has no wobble at all. The switches feels very tight.
hello, English is not my mother language, so i wanted to ask that how 's the structure of keyboard called when the bottom of it's keycaps are not covered by the top case?just like the most mainstream keyboards with a layout that's at least 80% or higher
Hi, thanks for the comment. I didn't try too many tactile switches. Only the Cherry MX Brown and Gateron Brown, and the sound is very different from the linear TTCs. You would have to look for a switch all made of POM, now the HMXs are in fashion, which I understand are made of that material. Have to keep in mind that there are several factors that affect the sound of the board. The sound of this keyboard is greatly influenced by the Tape Mod. In the description there is a link to the video of the mods I made to this keyboard, and before and after sound tests.
love how in depth this video is compared to a lot of other which consist of just endless yap instead of the actual keyboard plus a bonus for the great organization earned a sub from me man love the content so far keep it up <3
Hi, please note that the software to customize keys and effects only works on Windows. You can make your settings, save them to the board's memory, and then use them on Mac.
Hi, the keyboard has its own propietary software to customize the keys, macros and lighting. You can remap the main layer of keys, but not the secondary. It's compatible with Mac, you have to change the layer with Fn + S. Check the shots of the manual in the video.
Hi! Please tell me which switches are better - TTC superman or Outemu White? The link to the keyboard sells Outemu White, and I would like to find a seller with TTC superman. Thank you!
Hi my friend. It's seems that the TTC Superman are no longer available. I found this seller with stock, but in white purple keycaps color. s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DejkfDx
Yes, but for me they are ABS. Look at the reviews, a lot of people say the same thing. In my experience it feels more ABS than PBT. But who knows... For the price, I don't think there is anything better.
