I am not able to send mail using sql 2019. But I followed same process on sql 2012 and mail works fine. Microsoft has has not tested this tool properly. Configure app password in gmail and use same app password when configuring send mail account-- do not use original password or it will fail. I have not tested this process in SQL 2014, 2016, 2017.
