To superfans, this is historic. I am one. But most people aren't. Objectively, I can see why this would put people off. Especially since he sounds like this on every song. I've been listening to him for over fifty years and while I recognize how lucky we are to still have him, it doesn't mean I want to sit there for an hour trying to convince myself that this is a high-quality performance. It isn't. That's why I stopped seeing him live years ago. Some will say, but he's 83. Sure, but that's like watching past-their-prime professional athletes who hold on too long, moving from team to team.
I agree 100% Dylan IS the greatest songwriter of all time He WAS a great performer, too But the last 25 years (with few exceptions) are embarrasing I would call myself a superfan,too But I have ears to hear what's good or bad This is EXTREMELY bad And: He shows zero respect for his audience In other words: I own every Dylan record and always buy a new one on the first day But if he played today in my backyard for free, I wouldn't see him😂 There are some artists (nearly) of the same age, who are STILL fantastic performers (Stones, Springsteen, AC/DC, Neil Young) Greetings from Austria, my friend
This is not a song I thought I would get to hear Dylan perform again. It must be 7 or so years since he last revisited it. He does a bang-up job, too. What a shame that the audience appears so unengaged with the opportunity they have to see and hear one of the 20th century's great voices.
My daughter, for a high school assignment 3 years ago, recorded this song in italian and did a video. Its a beautiful version and shes a huge fan. We were there, and i told her he played it for her. I wish he could see her video. What a beautiful present to be there enjoying his perfornance! Willie was fantastic too. ❤thank you for capturing it! When i heard "blue eyed son" i was like no way!!! I had looked at his previous set list and didnt think he would be playing it. So happy that he did. We were very frustrated with the video screen at venue being blurry and not zooming in on him enough, but we were glad to be there. Thanks again for posting this!
@MusicMike76 I actually was thinking we were being punked with the way it was blurry and then focused for a second and then they backed off of his close up. Lol maybe Bob was behind that??😂 I swear he chuckled a few times as well.
Boy do I agree with you. More than disrespectful. This happened when I saw him this March too. They don't know what is in front of them. I don't get it.

I was there in the upper level. My recording was in pretty bad quality. And yeah I have the beginning missing as well-, he decided to change up the setlist for this night. Great show, but wow it was hot!
I couldn't figure out what he was wearing on his head! I was about halfway up in the seats. It looked like he was wearing a skull cap or yamaka but I doubt that.
I really like this. Curious, is this an approach to distribution that only someone with Jack White's stature could do. I'm sure it's not cheap. Maybe it drives live show attendance just as good as any low-balling big publisher? I'm sure pressing a vinyl isn't cheap, especially given they seem to cost $25+ now days, retail.
