Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me,..... worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is------> the spirit of prophecy. ...............Why did you leave this important verse out Pastor Fish ??????

In this instance, the storm came from God, not because they were doing God's will, but because they were not in harmony with the Spirit of Christ. They had been resisting his will in wanting to make Him a King. He did tell them to get in the boat and cross the sea, but to learn a lesson they were resisting. Recommended Reading on this scene of the storm on the sea of Galilee: The Desire of Ages, p. 377-382 "The disciples had not put off immediately from the land, as Jesus directed them. They waited for a time, hoping that He would come to them. But as they saw that darkness was fast gathering, they “entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum.” They had left Jesus with dissatisfied hearts, more impatient with Him than ever before since acknowledging Him as their Lord. They murmured because they had not been permitted to proclaim Him king. They blamed themselves for yielding so readily to His command. They reasoned that if they had been more persistent they might have accomplished their purpose." DA 379.2

It was not a burnt offering the bible simply states that it was an offering and offering could've been anything including the fruit of the field. The problem with Cain was not his offering but his heart. God bless.

I agree, the ultimate problem with Cain was his heart, and that was reflected in his offering. And we can tell that it was supposed to be a burnt offering because that is what Abel offered, and his offering was accepted but Cain's was not.

@@murphyseventh-dayadventist9942 The text doesn't say that though, that's adding to the text.

@@colprincess8579 It is taking the details that are provided and following them to their logical exegetical conclusion. Hebrews 11:4 tells us it was a sacrifice. Cain may have given an offering but there was no blood with the offering, which would have required a sacrifice, but Cain's sacrifice was lacking. Thus, it is not adding to the text, it is applying exegetical understanding to it based on what is given and how those that the passages were originally given to would have understood them.

@@murphyseventh-dayadventist9942 I am not disputing that it was a sacrifice, corn, oil, flour, etc... were part of the sacrifices as well it wasn't just animals. When I stated that it was a matter of the heart is because Abel was righteous and Cain was unrighteous. The problem was with the giver and nothing to do with the offering. Shabbat Shalom!

@@colprincess8579 yes, we agree that Cain had a problem in his heart. His actions demonstrated that he harbored rebellion. He was also encouraged to do the right thing though. In the rebellion he held to in his heart he did not bring the blood of a sacrifice when he brought his fruit. Thus he spurned the command of God in how the sacrifices were to be done. Without the shedding of blood the is no remission of sins. Thank you for your comments and interaction.
