Dear sir, could you help me explain why the time delay setting for long time current set at @6 x Ir? I appriciate your answer and look forward getting your answer soon.
Only safety switch that comes close to Square D is the old bullet proof safety switches made in the 1960 & 70's. Only thing that I used a hot stick on were buss duct switches. NEC has a requirement that the top of a safety switch handle can not be more then 6'7" ( 2 meters ) off the floor. Ok if its on accessible cat walks.
You can tell especially in this video that the Panelboard Manufactures are totally pushing this to benefit themselves and have been for more than a decade. Bathroom receptacles, kitchen counter receptacles within 6ft of a sink/tub/shower 100% should be, garage and outdoors should also be GFCI protected 100%. Anything else in the dwelling is pure BS to be GFCI/AFCI protected, you are witnessing sales greed. since long before 2020. If this was for Safety Reasons then there is absolutely no reason why the Main Service of a dwelling is not GFCI protected. Instead every Breaker in the Panel now has to be GFCI or AFCI $45-$65 a pop on the 1-pole breakers (multiplied by 10-24) 2-pole under 60A $130-$180 (multiplied by 3-5). And then the real kicker: why is my refrigerator breaker tripping or my AC Unit tripping while Im at work and my pets are in 100 deg temps inside my house? Their answer: Well your appliance is to old so now you have to go buy a new appliance. Total freaking BS. Yours Truly, Licensed Electrical Contractor Unrestricted, concerned!!!!
For these types of panels, can the main connections come from the top of the panel to the meter, or they can only be fed from the bottom like in this video?
For installing a service rate ATS outside: If I call it an Emergency disconnect, Not Service Rated can I treat the whole thing like a meter and just run the two hots and neutral straight on through without a SPD and land in a MB Panel and put the 230.67 Surge protector in the MB Panel? Do I have to install a SPD in the outside ATS no matter what?
I'm curious how you install a battery/generator transfer switch in one of these panels. You essentially need to break the direct connection between the main breaker and bus (or meter and main breaker) so wires to the 200A contactor can be routed to some other panel. Are there kits that do something like replace the bus bars with wire terminals?
WTG Square D , you made the window harder to see through and if you need a hook stick to shut off your equipment you need either a new Electrician or new equipment. May both . LOL
Thanks It is very helpful. In sepam relay setting in etap Regarding to the instantaneous trip , is it necessary to be set with new element or with the previous over current element. Also regarding to the ground fault trip what we should select? Thank u dear
Would love to be able to install a generator interlock on my load center. Do you know if it is an available option? Part number? The main being on the bottom seems to be an issue. Square D - SC3042M200PF Homeline 200-Amp 30-Space 42-Circuit Solar-Ready Combination Meter Socket and Main Breaker Load Center
if you Google "generator interlock solar ready panel" there is a company InterlockKit that shows interlocks that can interlock the main, generator, and solar break.
