@@YulyM да это всё понятно, просто у меня ещё плюс ко всему закисщая лечинка водительской двери. Если будет проблема придётся взламывать автомобиль. Я был удивлён когда обнаружил отсутствие лечинки в багажнике.

You need to unscrew 5 torx T25, and lift up the whole console a little, then loose the plastic locks holding the cupholder to take it apart. The cupholder itself consists of two parts that are also hold together by plastic locks, and the rubber part is holding between them. All in all it takes about half an hour to get the job done

For a 2004 XC70 its located under the driverside dash foot well, positioned vertically. Theirs a release tab you push in on the side closes to the left of the unit midway down, you push out to release.
The problem is there are rubber stops on the hinge that are missing. Over time they deteriorate and break into pieces. It's where one arm of the hinge hits another part. I am currently looking for those parts or will fabricate something. Like a rubber washer attached with a small bolt, then a rubber washer glued on top of the first one.. Note the failure of this will cause the trunk lid to open too much and break off the bottom plastic part of the lift strut.
All the rubbers are in place there - the hinge was replaced and original gas lifts installed - works perfectly science then. Original gas lifts make a short stop before the full trunk lid opening - that saves and prolonged the life of the hinge itself
Those hu systems are a bit funny, it has to be from a car of the same year or sometimes the next, for instance 2002 hu stereo can be replaced with another 2002 or a 2003 and maybe even a 2001. The year 2004 saw quite a few changes to the p2 volvos electrics so thats why no steering controls and wierd behavior
The video was just to show that the HU functions are all good (I sold it few weeks after). There is a certain number for each Chassis Number, most commonly one's need to find an HU of a same manufacture year as a car itself - 90% it will fit well and all steering control and back light will work fine. I've successfully changed HU-603 to HU-803 several times, on S60 (2003) and XC70 (2002) - works correct ever since

This allows the bulb failure warning system to see a larger voltage drop over the new shunt to match the lesser current draw from the HID lamps. This will preclude a warning message when HID lamps are used and show a bulb failure if one of the HID bulb systems fail
