John is so cool even though he doesnt think so. 😂 This concert was so good. Do you know why John and Stevie didnt perform together? I read somewhere there was a disagreement and a lot of people left after John finished-do you know? 😊 Thanks Brandon 😊
@AussieDebb Unfortunately Stevie got to big for her boots and thought that John was only her support Artist. She underestimated John's popularity and couldn't handle how much attention the crowd was shown him. I got that information from a reliable source so yes you're absolutely right there. 🙂👍
Hey Brandon. Is it possible to get a copy of Sadie and Playing to Win with the MSO sent to me , now theyre not on RU-vid anymore? Why do they get removed? 😊 Thank you
I think Kylie got a lot of flak from the press at the time. Little did they know what would ensue. I remember at the time, thinking that U2 were interesting with 'Gloria'. Quod Erat Demonstrandum.
@@AussieDebb Hi Debb. This was a notification I came across when looking for the Sewing Street channel. (my phone is often on silent if I'm out and about, I look at it as and when. Getting lots of scam calls on the mobile. ). I recently found another reaction channel, ZamozOMG, reacting.to When the War is Over. It's a song about a serious subject, but he said it made him happy. I'm not the only one who goes to a happy place when John sings. That's a very powerful connection over the web. Hope you're all well, nicely warm here when the sun shines, and the gusting wind drops, but the evenings feel like late autumn. And you never know if you're going to wake up to a summery day or a wintry day. Not the weather patterns of my much younger days. Take care. Aug'24.. UK. E ♥️
@@AussieDebb Hi Debb. This evening the hiding sun left a pink scar right across the sky - it was gorgeous. . Exactly like the line from Touch of Paradise. Some of those song writers were poets, such exquisite lines, with a story . No wonder he could sing with such emotion., he was given the gift of beautiful and meaningful lyrics. I listen to some (most?) of today's pop songs and think "John wouldn't touch that". Aug'24. UK. E ❤️
@@EileenSpeakman Hi Eileen I finally found my notifications under mentions not comments - didn't think to look there. That description of the sky sounds beautiful. Look forward to catching up again soon. Stay safe and well ♥️💖
Hello Brandon. I've been following John on YT for about 2 years. Love it when I'm scrolling around YT for craft and other videos and Farnsey pops up - everything stops for John, I have to watch, and then go on to find and watch more videos. He's my happy place, my "comfort food". Aug'24. UK. E ❤
@@BrandonBeard thank you for response. I don't do Facebook, but I will try to find out what I need to do access the channels you mention... I don't have the Internet, just the mobile phone with a small screen. E♥️
This was an hour and a half of our much-loved, very special Aussie icon and I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it! John is the BEST!! Thank you!
Wow! Thank you Brandon. Nice compilation. I haven't seen that wonderful footage of John and his band, with Southern Sons, singing 'See The Banners Fall' on the Steve Vizard show before! Does Lisa have Pink hair there?
Ditto to everything Eileen. John is the absolute best. Thanks Brandon. Yes. Guy Sebastian and Jess Mauboy are doing a musical tribute to John. Very happy they have been chosen. Love his later bersions of Pressure Down - he has even more fun with it ❤😂🎉
@@AussieDebb I'll have to go back and compare earlier tracks with this. This later one seems a bit more swing? A bit up tempo? Or perhaps it's just the arrangement? Lovely that there's going to be a tribute, it will be televised for national airing? I hope I get to see it on YT at some point.. Fangirling at my age - tch tch! There's only one other celebrity I've given so much time to, and he's not a singer. Daughter's birthday tomorrow, so we're all doing family lunch out. Stay well. . E♥️
Love this man, love his humanity, love his voice, love his songs. And love all his backing singers and all his band members. Such a complete and enduring long term package. Thank you for uploading this, lovely surprise when I'm scrolling through YT and a Farnsey video just pops up. Good times. Aug'24. UK. E ❤
@@BrandonBeard ♥️. Anything and everything Farnsey - performances, documentaries interviews,. I just soak them all up. Aussie Debb says your Logie Awards are soon - and there may be some acknowledgment to John. I doubt it will be covered in the UK so I hope anything that is shown will be on YT? Best wishes. E❤️
Love this! ❤ I was there that night and it was a beyond phenomenal experience! John is an Aussie legend with no ego…WYSIWYG. I have seen John live many times over the last 35+ years, but this was my absolute favourite concert that I had ever attended!!! John is one of my favourite artists of all time and always will be! Actually the whole of Expo ‘88 was awesome!!! There were so many great showcases, so many amazing live performances on the Riverstage by great artists, the nightly laser show was out of this world (for that time)! I was 17, in the big smoke for only the 2nd time and for a country girl, the city was just so alive with the Expo experiences. I have to say that couple of weeks I was there in Brisbane during the Expo has stayed with me my whole life since then! I’m a Queenslander through and through and our state capital city has so much to offer…the excitement and fast paced city lifestyle blended with the more laid back Queensland way of living…the best of both worlds! ❤
I was also there that evening , I was 14 years old , was attending expo with my school from Sydney...without doubt one of the greatest experiences of my life..not just childhood...so many great memories
Keep an eye out for an emerging mature age Aussie tenor, Vito Montforte. There are tentative plans for him to perform at the Sydney Opera House in January 2025 and Yiddishe Momme is one of the songs he will perform, two others are L' Donne Mobile and I'll Walk with God. I expect he will also perform O Sole Mio and Nessum Dorma and Surriento. I get goose bumps when I hear Vito perform O Sole Mio and Ciao Ciao Bambina which he sings with such passion and emotion. Vito has no internet presence yet, but a website for him will be uploaded soon. Possibly in September 2024.
An awesome compilation of our phenomenal Aussie legend, John Farnham's live performances. Thank you. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching and re-living these wonderful concerts. xoxo
