I had to listen his whole set before commented.His pans were a little out of tune but if you listen carefully to the melodic and harmonic aspect of his improvisation it is really of the highest order.You may only recognize this if you try to play or transcribe his solos.so really I find your comment baseless,it ain’t even funny either
The Caribbean has lost two musical geniuses , Aston Family man Barrett and now Earl Rodney. Please don’t limit this great to pan alone! He was the bassist and arranger for Sparrow fantastic album , Hotter Than Ever! May they both rest in God’s eternal peace!
Also, a fun fact, Sidney Poitier Served as the ambassador to Japan for the Bahamas, In fact the day, it’s a new Poitier died. His death was announced by the foreign minister of the Bahamas. Obviously, it shows the significance of Sidney Poitier to the country of the Bahamas.
This was in no way a GOOD Arrangement..... but instead a GREAT Arrangement .....deserving of a FIRST PLACE WIN ... I was live and direct at the Queens Park savannah ... the crowd was uncontrollable during this performance .... I think is was a loss by a very small margin .... then they could have been joint champions ....Oh Well .. I am just a steelpan lover with no musical certification
