Art Horizon is a place of creativity and learning, where I share my 25 years of my own art journey and everything I've learned on my way. I hope to inspire others to make beautiful paintings through showing how everything in painting is logically interconnected and can be simplified to its essence.
Thanks so much for the detailed technique videos--this and the one on brushstrokes, in particular. Very helpful. Looking forward to more from your channel in the future!
So many workshops I've taken teach one to always and only make a color string with your pallet knife by mixing up separate and distinct puddles. I always found this felt uncomfortable and delaying because I instinctively mix my color strings the way you have shown, and with the brush, and not fully mixed but with some lively variation. So validating to see you doing so... yet not to say my instincts are always spot on!
Hi Regina, I just found your channel a couple of days ago and I find it very interesting and educational. Thanks so much for the time, knowledge and experience in each video. What type of exercises do you recommend for this topics? I wish you all the best filled with blessings for each day. Thanks again.Greetings from Champaign, Illinois, USA ❤❤❤
@@crisalidathomassie1811 Thank you so much for your kind words. As an exercising would start to pay attention to observation of shadow shapes and ask myself question if I were to paint it what colors would I use and what temperature this shadow will be without reflective lights and than with them, how strong can I make them, what is the origin of those secondary lights reflecting. I would also look at other master painters and see what they did and question their solutions if it worked or not. ❤️🎨❤️
Thank you for starting your channel. I have been a great admirer for your work for quite a while and it feels nice to be a little closer to your world of art through your channel. 🙏
I have to study landscape for a few years, I paint a few but I don’t have confidence. I do recomend Matt Smith he is a great teacher for Landscapes. Sorry
Thank you Regina. You, like Sherrie and David have a gift for teaching. Taking complex and difficult subjects and demonstrating in a clear and concise manner. Bravo!
Thanks for the video. I learned a lot in this 45 minutes. You talk about very interesting and important things and I hope you will make more content like this.
Dear Regina, once again such a clear explanation. Incredibly happy with it. What a great knowledge you give as a gift. For which many thanks and I hope to learn much more from you.🙏🍀
Thank you very much. It's a pity that I didn't know before to prepare the colors and work alongside you. I hope your video stays on RU-vid? Thank you if you decide to keep this recording afterwards.
Yes I will keep it, and if you like I can send you my photo reference, if you can send me your email address ( you can send it to my web site to be private)❤

Thank you, that was very helpful. Beautiful painting! 🌸
I am using about 13-15 color palette, warm and cool temperature of yellow, red and blue. I will post my palette this week. Also I have it on my web site under teaching category all the way on the bottom all my art materials that I like and paints❤️
Hello, I watched a few of your videos and I tried to pick color on the photos but I found that the shadows always became more saturated and mostly cooler. Is there any scientific basis for shade always getting warmer?
I so understand how confusing it may be with all this different information flowing around on internet. That’s why I try to teach only logic behind the painting. The shadows are dark because they are caused by absence of direct light. The shadows can appear getting lighter because there is a secondary light ( like reflective light) the shadow is warm because only warm colors in the shadow create illusion of transparency and depth. The shadows may look cooler in some areas when reflective light comes and changes them ( like sky reflecting blue into warm shadow). If shadow will have no warm colors in it it will look flat and opaque, as if darkness wasn’t air but black fabric hiding the rest of the object behind. I demonstrate this in my video Does Shadow Has a Temperature? Please if you have more questions I am happy to help.🎨
The transparency of the shadow is that we can clearly see the modeling of the form through it. If you noticed when she made the shadow cool it looked like a hole in the boys face. The information modeling his face was deleted.
@@Faiza_Hassan thank you for your suggestion Faiza. I will do that. I do have a free video on my web site on all the supplies I use, it’s at the end of my teaching page on the bottom.❤️
@@ArtHorizonLyubovnaya Dear Regina Lyubovnaya Your website link I didn't find anywhere. It's neither in the video description nor in your channel's bio.
