@204orin I am doing the same thing adding cable to them a dozen so far another 2 dozen to go. I like the idea myself too i never thought of that all those years I trap beaver
@@buckyy_sap4918yeah, makes it fast and easy, i have a dozen new ones to do also...be starting here in a few days, but it will be under ice trapping this year
Of all the years I've trapped for muskrat never I did think of using conibear with a pole set but I just hang a conibear down below with carrot in trigger just below the ice. I will try this set out this weekend in calmer water so it fire off
I always wonder if I should different setting thank you for sharing your idea. I used to use leg hold for rats and s9me traps I lose to eagles and fox. Maybe I will have no use legholds and save me the trouble
@@buckyy_sap4918 I still use foot holds, they have their place..rats have been down here the last few years, but i'm seeing more sign this year...I'll wait a few weeks yet...good luck out there!!!
If you flip the front tires left to right just swap sides they will fit they have a positive offset so it you put left tire on the right side and right tire on left now you have a negative offset had to do this on my moms quad as the new wheels she bought came off a side by side
A guy in Selkirk Manitoba used to make them, he no longer does though. The net supply companies have made in china ones now, and they don't work worth a damn.
@@204orin how do you suggest on doing it. I’ve never set a net under the ice before and I just bought a jigger but don’t know how I’m gonna find it after. I was thinking of trying to put a AirTag on it but I don’t know if it’ll work through the ice
@@isaiahcollins539 it will make noise, does it have a knocker on it? The beeber we have are not made anymore, but guys are using the marko polo pet finders now.
Had a blackie come right through my sliding screen in Montana. I got lucky as it backed right out when it saw me! It completely destroyed another cabin the week before.
@@204orin When we were making nets we used foam core floating rope and leader line for the bottom. have you used those? All commercial fishing on this continent I see using same stuff as you do.
@@maksymdavydiuk6310 We have to buy out another fisherman on the lake to get a license, there is a set number of licenses on the lake. Different lakes have different minimum mesh sizes. This like is 4" or bigger. In the video i'm using a 4". When i'm targeting whitefish or jackfish i'll use 4 1/2" mesh size. For pickerel 4"
how ya doing? Been good here...bought a crappy camera last fall and didnt like the video quality, so kind of just let winter slip by with no vids...Guess I shoud get on that. Orin
@@204orin hey going to take it on its maiden voyage here on rainy lake, Ontario this morning I'll bring my tools in case it needs tweaking thanks for the tip
Hello. My dad used to do that in Tornio Finland when I was a kid. After school I hop on my kelkka pulled by my dog and followed the snowmobile tracks to the sea & find him. Mom used to give me bag of stuff & lighter so I could burn it & warm my toes. He died when I was 12 and I really didn't know how he did that. It was over 40 years ago so they had to do it without that beeping thingy. Fun and interesting to watch. Thank you 👍
U can fit 10s on the front if u put itp wheels on. I have a 14 grizzly 450 with 26-10-12 lends executioners with itp ss312 wheels and they fit no problem. I also have a 2 inch spacer lift which sucks it makes overtime ride to still. How is the ride on yours with that lift? My wheels and tires also fit before the lift if your wondering also.
