@@Mrnpegu If you make pickle, then boil it. For us, we bought it from the market which was carried in a some kind of clear solution (most probably brine). Once we bring we wash it and then submerge it in simple filtered water and air tight the container for long-term storage. Preferable, it is better to use glass bottle and water should be filled in till the brim. Since fresh bamboo shoots contain natural toxins (cyanogenic glycosides), so they need to be processed correctly before consumption and we never ever tasted it raw. We also prepare pickle from bamboo shoots, if you would like to see us making it, let us now, we we will try to bring a video on this.

These flowers are edible, but many people either don’t know that it can be consumed or they don’t prefer because of its strong fragrance. Cutting off the flower to channelise the energy to develop rhizomes can be done when we talk in the perspective of science. If you don’t want to consume them then it’s better to trim them off.
