@@blurads Actually you can get the same effect with emissive planes and area lights that will cause less render time. You should use the planes with just enough emission to lit up themselves as the outside color and then use area lights that are just little bit front of the planes to lit up the scene from these windows. You will get the same result but using area lights to lighting the scene will make your render much faster. Also avoid very dark areas and volumes togehter. If it was an animation shot, it would take too long to render. Solution is lit up the scene with area, spot and point lights and then darken the scene in post processing or just lower the exposure.
Thanks for the insight - is there any specific reason on why there is a difference in render time? You're right, a volume adds a ton of calculation, but in the tutorial I explicitly don't create an animation.
Sadly not available in the US. I’m just taking my Ig down it’s only been a source of anxiety and stress for me I have no idea how people are still on it.
sorry to hear that. feel free to shoot me a DM though if you're struggling with anything right now, because you shouldn't feel anxious on these platforms.
@@blurads I don't see why I shouldn't. I'll assume you're coming from a sincere place but I'm 40. I have lots of accumulated baggage from IG and FB that I don't want or need. This was beyond the last straw, should've nuked my account years ago
I hope Meta will add this opt-out option for users in the United States too. AI data collection needs to stop, especially for creators who pour their heart & soul into their work 🫡
I think this is only for the EU, There is no such form on my end (India), and what I did see was a form that required you to submit a proof that your data is being used in AI (Even that is gone now), but whoever is able to do it, should do it
Sorry to hear that - you're right, this is possibly an EU only thing. Try using this link and see if it's working: facebook.com/help/contact/6359191084165019
@@Denosavros The audience on here is quite different to Instagram :) And to be fair, I've only uploaded 2 long-form videos so far, and it takes time to make them good.
damnnn, thats precicely what im learning rn, got the davinci pro version and am doing that daily, so cool!!! pls more !!! do daily tutorials like that pls!!!
@@blurads i just watched dune 2 a few hours ago in cinema ( way overated, there were so many logic holes) and i wonder how possible it would be to make fun of it, kina animate a szene just like in the movie but let smt funny happen
Why save as png? EXR contains much more light and color information and with AWAA/B compression it is even smaller in size than PNG. And you have the advantage of a linear workflow and can use it better for compositing.
I know. But this topic in itself deserves its own video since it requires unnecessary overhead to get it configured correctly (color space, HDR, ACES). This was more of a small introduction to lighting possibilities with Cycles alone and the for end result it would not have made much of a difference, just more work. (Grüße aus Stuttgart)
I love this! I have been doing the same thing for a long time now. I haven’t used glow yet, which I will try next time. Depending on the scene I also like to add a little amount of Gaussian blur and film grain to make it seem more natural. Oh what’s also a neat trick is adding a secondary red glow to your halation, to get those red outlines on your highlights.
Thank you for sharing. This is exactly what I do in the next episode, Gaussian Blur + Secondary Glow. But I think you can turn up the redness in the Halation node itself as well.
Thank you for the comment. This video was aimed at people who are just starting out with Blender and don't want to learn a whole new different renderer.
