I'm getting again into street photography and i was looking for an old Sony RX100 Mark 1 I saw on a store but ended finding this Canon brandly new. The zoom is really impressive to get close to some places without getting noticed, but at night isn't very good. With the ideal conditions takes really good photos and for travel i find it perfect to get close to wildlife.

Nice to see you're in Houston, sad to say the title feels like click bait and at the very least feels misleading. Goodbye? Set aside? What exactly does that mean? You're selling it, trading it in (doesn't sound like either) or putting it on the shelf? Glad you fell in love with photography. Why the move to full frame? (you never give your motivation for change - so I have to wonder who this video is for?). It's a review, without being a review, a goodby, without being a goodby, and a statement of moving on to bigger things (statement without purpose). If you live in Houston, hope to see you out shooting sometime. Enjoy your new gear.
@lonewolfcreative
@lonewolfcreative 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment. I maybe could have been a little more clear on my meaning. I will most likely sell my cameras, once I move to full frame. Starting out with APS-C cameras, I feel, was a great way to begin the learning journey of photography. Although the learning never ends, I feel full frame opens a few more doors. Now that I know I am in it for the long haul, the investment feels worthwhile. FF offers a few edges in certain situations. Definitely planning on hitting the ground in Houston. Some really great photo opportunities and I think some street photography would be a great time! Again, thanks for reaching out. I appreciate it.

@@lonewolfcreative Hope to see you out shooting someday. My only suggestion (now having owned Nikon DSLR crop and full frame, and now Nikon mirrorless) is do not get caught up in the hype. I nearly jumped to Sony or Canon mirrorless because Nikon was so slow to the mirrorless market. I had a list of 25 features I wanted out of Nikon if I was to stay with them (I shoot predominately sports, action and wildlife). When the Z9 was launched, it had nearly everything I was looking for (still lacking zebras/blinkies in stills and global shutter). I waited about 4 years with that list before I jumped. So what I'm saying is know what you expect to get out of full frame and why you need it. Some of my best images were created with the Nikon D500 (crop sensor). Just suggesting you know exactly why your moving up in size, and what is available (feature set) that might help you.

A Leica camera is expensive! You’re paying for the brand name and the famous red dot. The general consensus on photography forums is the only thing about the TZ5 that got updated with later builds is a modest increase in sensor capability; otherwise the basic features in successive versions have remained the same. Like with film cameras, that’s no real need to buy a new camera when your existing one will suffice. Ordinary users and amateur photographers don’t care about stuff important to the professionals and old cameras retain their value very well.

It is a great camera! Lately I’ve been attached to cameras that give me a nostalgic feel that connects me to them more than the modern looking canons and Sonys. This fits the bill perfectly. I’ve actually started to sell off my modern looking/feeling cameras because I just don’t feel connected to them. I’m actually withering my collection down to Fuji and this Fc and probably will also get the new full frame Nikon Zf. This is all after I tried my hand at film and felt it was fun and nostalgic but too costly to fully go into film. So now I just use film simulation settings on my Fuji’s and also on this Nikon. Great video!

Thank you for the comment. I agree, film is outrageous these days. I have been curious about film simulations. Will have to dip my toe in there next. If you get the Nikon Zf full-frame, let me know what you think of it. I am in the market for a full-frame this year.

I just randomly dropped across another video of yours, where you rediscovered your TZ5 and tried it out to see how it stands up, some 15 years later...I also bought one in 2008, specifically for a live band gig = low light, so not ideal really, and I've not used it in years. Watching your video just flicked a switch with me and I dug it up from it's hiding place....It's still in top notch shape and I'm now keen to get out and take some photos with it. I now shoot with Fujifilm cameras, but there is also something very appealing about going a little retro and lo-fi, that has me quite excited and it's ideal for street photography, with it's low profile and unassuming looks, and a camera that you can have with you whenever you go out...I really liked the pictures you captured here, and seriously, I think there's a bit of an analogue quality to them, which is really appealing...I need to figure out how to work the Tz5 again, but then I'll be out doing some shooting with it, so thanks for this (slightly) nostalgic nudge....I hope you do more videos showcasing shots similar to the ones you got here, with this camera, I think images look really cool. So in the off chance you do, I subscribed.
@lonewolfcreative
@lonewolfcreative 8 месяцев назад
Thank you for subscribing. It is tricky in low-light. My best low-light success has been in spots like New Orleans and Las Vegas, where there is all sorts of light sources. But, at all other times, I too enjoy the nostalgic feel of the photos. And you are right, perfect for street photography. People never give me a second look, whenever I am carrying this little camera. Thanks for the comment and again, I appreciate you subscribing.

Glad to see people enjoying some of the 2000s gems that are out there. I got a TZ1 recently and I'm crazy about it. A big plus for these cameras is the size. If you always have it with you, there are so many more interesting shots you can get when you don't have your giant SLR with you.

ISO refers to the sensitivity of the camera's sensor. The ISO setting is one of three elements used to control exposure. ISO affects pixels?
