I don't agree with this analysis at all, and think it is biased. In Oklahoma, where we have legalized medical marijuana, vehicle accidents within the state have rose considerably. This is directly affecting price increases in auto insurance rates to everyone. Also, and without a study to back me unfortunately, I think marijuana has impacted the number of able-bodied people willing to work. And not in a good way. Six to seven million able-bodied men in the US are now unemployed because they don't want to work. This limits the size of the work force, and causes employers to have to increase salaries to those who do wish to be employed. And this contributes to inflation. Finally, especially with young people, access to marijuana vastly increases the chance they will start using much more powerful and illegal drugs; making them a burden to society. Sorry if that offends everyone, but it's the truth.
Choosing to remain an alcoholic, a drug abuser is not in any way the same as someone who has been sickened, inflicted with a physical, or mental disability. It is a choice if you want to lift the bottle, or to snort, sallow, inject oneself with a form of what is very highly known as bad for a person. There is no logical reason to be paying someone out on a system where the majority of people who worked hard, in their lifetime, are the ones that have paid what was enforced on them and taken out of their paychecks.
I was given a fully favorable decision,I Won my Disability case ,But I didn't recieve any back benefits ,my original AOD was changed by an ALJ instead of Nov.2019 it was changed to Nov.2021 can't understand why the ALJ decided this,so I agreed to that later date, never was advised by my representative why this change came about , also I was given concurrent My ssi benefits started in Apr 2022 and ended May,2022 which came at the end of April for May now that's ended .My Disability benefits I haven't started Recieving yet. I have many questions with no real answer .confused.
I do know, The judge can move your onset date but your attorney should of told you what that means, it means partially favor you'll be approved but you'll get no back pay.. If you agreed.. Otherwise you would of been denied at the hearing
Social security is joke ,people who has seriously physical or mental ill ,they real cant work but they are denied by Social security staff ,those people are inhuman ignorance unprofessional (how come hires psychologists to give you a mental status exam?this is Psychiatrist job ) finally those patient are hopeless try to killed themselves ， Social security people they will have retribution
I did not go to hearing they don't do that anymore.in Gastonia NC-charlotte.i didn't need a lawyer I went throw alsups. disability company .takes 1-year ss ask questions on the phone bipolar paranoid could not go outside scared they called 2 people about me ask my job boss. and mother. anxiety got to get school records I failed a d disorder
Its a shame we have to do a hearing ssdi says if you have a medical condition that keeps you out of work for 1Yr you are eligible. Its our money we earned it

Nice overview of the hearing process. Good point about when a witness makes sense - since these hearings only last 45 minutes to an hour, I rarely use them but as you point out there are certain circumstances when a claimant is not the best source of testimony.
The reason I m applying for the disability is because I'm unable to walk on my own need a walker to use when am walking so I don't fall down again lol I did and injured my head and my upper lip broke a vessel
