Hokas got me through BMT even to help me reach an outstanding score on the final PT test! plus, they never came untied, especially for the Airman’s Run! I got the Clifton 9 as i bought it at last minute before shipping out to BMT.
Can anyone recommend a good shoe for jumping rope and running in place? I'm a true beginner and on the heavier side (I need to lose anout 65 pounds). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The softer the foam the quicker it gets flat. A shop clerk advised me to get gaviota instead of Bondi. According to him, they are not as soft as Bondi but they will last longer or something. Thank you for the review. But Bondi is second to none for those with heel spurs.
Thanks for this video. The Bondi 8 was way too narrow for me, especially in the toe box, so I was hoping the Gaviota 5 would be a great alternative. The Gaviota is definitely wider in the toe box, but isn't anywhere near as cushioned as the Bondi 8. Hurt my feet on long walks. Looks like I'll stick to my Arahi's.
Great review 👍 ive got the hoka m4 but don't use it for long runs as it's just too firm , so hoping these are a little more comfortable, mine pair will be here soon 😁😁 Update , mine arrived two days ago and I've put 25 miles on them across 2 runs . It's a great shoe , more miles will tell but initial thought is today's 15 mile run was great 👍👍
Great review! I had an acl tear a couple years back playing basketball, and at age 40 now, am starting to slow down (just mainly want casual comfort shoes for walking/standing). A friend recommended the Bondi 8’s and when I went to try them on they felt great, but they looked pretty clunky to me, specifically the width (they looked almost like clown shoes). That being said, do you think the Bondi 7s would solve that clown shoe concern for me?? Thanks for your time and hope to hear back.
Thanks for the comment James. One of the most common things I hear about “Hoka” in general is that they appear to look like clown shoes. Personally, I don’t think they do…I think people just have a weird perception about it for whatever reason..nevertheless I think the Bondis in general are bigger shoes and as a result they might appear to be “clown shoes” but I don’t think they are. The comfortability out weighs the awkwardness
Hello Joel, may I ask what the financial waiver was for? Currently trying to go reserves but unsure if they’ll take me at this point. Have some debt in collections and a repo.
Good question. The financial was for debt that I had/ debt that needed to be paid off. They will run a credit check on you and it if you have unpaid bills, medical bills, anything that will go on your credit report then it will flag. Regardless if you have paid it off or not, you will have to write a statement explaining the situation and your resolve. Again, it could have changed but this was my experience in the process.
the gaviota 5 is a glorified bondi shoe which is more neutral than stability. removing the j frame and making the sole less supportive.. I am not happy with it at all. I wish they just refreshed the 4 lol this isnt even gaviota anymore
Yes. Yes. PLENTY (key word) of rubberized outsole. Misleading dude. That the rubberized outsole goes all the way around the perimeter is one thing...but doesn't qualify it for the use of "plenty". Plenty would refer to the actual thickness of the outsole that gives an outsole its longevity. This sole will wear down in no time.
Hello. Thank you for your reviews and comprehensive help. Can I know your foot length and the shoe size you use in Nimbus 25 so that I can have a reference?
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I normally wear a 10.5 for almost every shoe. My feet measurement accordingly to the Fleet feet scan said 9.7, thus I wear a 10.5
When I saw you were wearing the Hoka bucket hat 😮…I knew who was going to win this review. But then I saw the Nike singlet and I knew who was going to win the review. Good review, liked the comparison.
Thank you for the comment. Yes, I was trying to throw a wrench in there a little bit and make the viewer curious as to what the outcome would be. I really appreciate your kind words.
Hi Joel, I’m an amateur runner and will get the Saucony Ride 16 after watching your youtube clip..prior to that I’m still considering about getting Ride 16 ? Thanks Mate 😊
