My name is Elena. I have been making jewellery from natural stones for the past 12 years. I am fascinated with the beauty of natural stones and in my jewellery I try to show the beauty of each stone. My jewellery is available to buy on Etsy platform Shop: EllyStones www.etsy.com/uk/shop/EllyStones?ref=l2-about-shopname
Thank you so much for taking time to comment. Making jewellery for many years but new to RU-vid. Still a lot to learn Hope people will find some if the videos useful or just will enjoy them.😁
Hi , noticed that some people put 👎. I wonder what you think why people put dislike for someone video showing original craft/art pieces? What do you think? It would be intersting to know. I would prefer a polite comment - what people did not like?
Hi , are you a jewellery maker yourself? Do you make jewellery professionally? I am still learning to photograph and film jewellery myself. But may be in future I will make a video how I do it.
@@ellystones Hey, thanks for replying to all of my comments. I have just started making jewelleries and still a very beginner, not at all professional. I have a full time job so just doing it as a hobby. I must admit I love making jewelleries, I have always loved beaded necklace and earrings but had no idea how to make them. I am still looking for places to buy good quality beads and findings.
That is a great hobby. Helped me with depression, wen I lost my mom. I am doing it for almost 13 years and always looking for new supplies, despite have lots. I know in some countries there are really good shops, you can buy supplies in person, but do not know such shops in the UK. I used to buy a lot of inexpensive beads from beadshopuk, but have not done so for a long time. May be worth checking.@@sarkarpiu1
I had these beads for many years, I am not sure were I have bought them, may be on jewellery maker. They used to be really good supplier, but unfortunately lately they become expensive and not such a great quality. You can try to Google "watermelon agate to buy" it may come up with some suggestions.
I have kits for making earrings from this tutorial and few others in my ETSY shop: EllyStones, there is link in the description. In the kit I check every component and you are guaranteed there is no faulty, broken or bad quality components. The components I use are made in China and sold by Chinese companies. There are components on ETSY sold by Chinese companies and reasonably priced. The Themu has good range of supplies and no hidden charges. However when you buy on internet you are always risking that you will get things which are different to description, not the best quality and some of things I buy, unfortunately, go to the bin straight away - this is a part of the experience I am afraid. Even if you repeat the order from the same shop you may get different quality and it is the risk we take.
I have them for a very long time, may be in PandaHall? Be aware PandaHall good quality but high hidden charges. I was recently charged 30% in taxes and processing fees, when I thought I have got offer for free delivery. The charges came 2 days after I have completed purchase through FedEx
Thank you for your kind words. I am doing jewellery since 2011 and wanted to do tutorials for a while, but took me a few years to master the confidence to start.
Hi Elena, thank you for shearing. Very useful information. Thank you for advice on where and what to buy at the best value for money. I struggle to find good cutters.😊
It is very important to chose pliers and cutters which are comfortable for your hand. There is a variety of pliers with VERY SMALL handles. I bought ones in error and unable to use them. This type of pliers may work for people with small hands. My hands are size L (gloves) and I was unable to use these small pliers such as mini-pliers - around 10 cm whole toll. The Pliers I use are 13 cm and handles length around 8 cm.
Thank you for your comment. What else would you like to see covered? any particular techniques, information about tools? Supplies? I am working through my next couple of videos and would be grateful for advice. Elena
@@heatherlynch5506 Thank you for the suggestion I am not specialising in wire wrapping but I do use wire wrapping techniques in my jewellery and have done a few wire wrapping projects. I plan to include a review of the jewellery wire in my stringing materials overview. I will put in my planner to do a video on wire wrapping.
This is my 1st tutorial on RU-vid and I am grateful to everyone who is watching. I would love to have your feedback on the tutorial and any suggestions are most welcome.
