So Leicester is introducing electric buses ? On the face of it that is goodb ut and a big but ,how is the electricity generated that provides the enerrgy for the buses? So many authorities are saying how good they are with electric buses but remain silent on the generation of that electrictiy

This man used to live next door to me. He is a complete hypocrite. He berrated the legitimate concerns and lawful collection of a petition, which you are allowed to do. He called us the colators as being racists, when we were comprised of all races, all religions, even Muslims signed as they knew that if planning consent was given to the Masjid Umar it would mean the white flight which then turned into any one who was non Muslim leaving, even Muslim left. Parking problem, noise anti social behaviour, and no traffic management ensued. I know that even the Emergency services sadi they were late to a 999 call as the parking near the Mosque went uncontrolled and far more exceeded the numbers allowed. So it'll take 30 mins per bus to do a full loop? If we take Jewry Wall, roughly furthest point from the train station half way through the loop, that will take 15 mins to get there with an average of 5 mins waiting for the bus, it takes 19 mins to walk there. It's great the city is pushing for more non-driving options, but maybe the loop should've been a bit bigger if it takes a similar time to walk or ride the bus to the furthest point? I hope it's always full either way to encourage the city to bring more stuff like this. Bring back trams!
What bright spark decided to turn grodby road from 2lanes into 1, and using the other lane as a bus lane......on a busy road....the stupidity of the council never surprises me
Lots of festive fun in Leicester now the lights are on and December has arrived. Book you ice skating tickets, take a spin on the wheel of light, visit Santa at his grotto in Town Hall Square and enjoy the traditon of Christmas at the nativity scene. Kids can post letters to Santa in one of the talking festive post boxes and view the Paint to Pixel projections in Green Dragon Square when it gets dark. #ChristmasinLeicester

It's sad sainsbury's in town gone I didn't no it shut cause haven't visited Leicester for a while now havevto take bus to Melton Rd or fosse park just for sainsbury's what are they doing to it I wonder
I'm all for making improvements, especially the aesthetics, but removing such large sections of the roof will drive down footfall to the outer stalls when it rains. Is it beneficial to reduce the footprint of the market further? The loss of the old multi level indoor market and stalls once alongside the corn exchnge has already been a dramatic amount of lost space. And the promise of events on Green Dragon Square haven't really emerged. It's just a dead space. The entire market area used to be shoulder to shoulder with punters, all hustle and bustle, back in the 80's. Now, you can hear the breeze drifting by.
Looks terrible. Bring back market stalls let people use them free. Stop being ashamed of what you've got. Dressing it up isn't going to make it work. You got to bring people in. You need to encourage variety of stalls by working with the holders. They don't have to just be stalls for selling. Services could be provided from them too.
