While I was watching the movie and heard this song without knowing it, I thought it must be some very popular song from the 80s because this song is so good. Why does this have so few views and why isn't it on spotify? this is wonderful!!
Sadly, Matrica Berg who sang in the studio scenes wasn't the vocalist on the final version of the song. I wish she would do a version with Neil Young's help...
I want to share what I think the last verse lyrics are, since they always seem wrong everywhere I looked and I love this song and have my own meaning that it means to me. So I went and covered it myself and recorded my own version. I don't know if I'll ever properly release mine, but it's probably one of my best covers that I've ever done. However I was waiting for my voice (falsetto) to get a little better before I even attempted that last outro/verse because Jude's falsetto is really next level from a singer's perspective. I'm in awe of how he effortlessly flows between his different registers and voices and how pristine bell tone his high falsetto is, along with his range. Unfortunately I waited so long that I freaking lost my original hard drive with the multi tracks on it, so I am going to have to either just paste the vocals for the last verse on a track that already has some mastering done to it, and I might not be able to get it to sound the way I really wanted to or with the new AI stem separation tech coming out I may be able to pull it off like I want it to sound after all. But I digress......Anyways, I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what the lyrics were on this last verse, even going to great lengths slowing the original down and looping it over and over again in my DAW because everywhere I read the lyrics online, they didn't sound right to me, so here is what I personally think the last verse/outro lyrics are, just by using my own ears listening to the original recording: and don't say you've never been told, I'll be with you till we grow old, till I'm overgrown and I'm cold (sounds like evergrown, but I'm allowing some wiggle room for phonetics that happen sometimes to hit certain notes in higher registers, a long O might have been hard right here, but it also could just be a creative choice, either way) I'm not sitting up here on some throne (This is clear as day to me, and I always wonder why the lyrics sites got this line wrong so often, but who knows, they might have came from Jude) I'll be with you till we're both gone like a dog, you can always come home dig up a bone, look around town baby down town now please don't throw me to the pound [right now]/ or [ah nah] (really sounds like right now when it's slowed down by half, to me at least) bup ba da da da duh damn damn damn damn damn damn damn.........(Maybe? scat is always hard to try to type out for me, so if anyone wants to throw in on a correction for this line, please do) Anyhow, I think this is probably closer than anywhere else I've ever seen with these lyrics posted, so maybe someone will appreciate it out there.

Hi everyone, id like to share something with you all. I first saw this movie as a kid in the 80s. Growing up in a large family. I am a musician too, ive had struggles, heartache, etc. As ive gotten older i really feel like the main guy in this movie. When i hear this song, i feel a longing or something inside, like wondering if one day i might meet the woman im supposed to be with. Not just a partner but hoping there is a woman out there that if i meet her its like our love was 'Made in heaven' a lover, best friend, soul mate. ❤
Assisti esse filme emocionante há muitos anos e nunca o esqueci. Revendo-o agora em 2024 a emoção é a mesma, talvez maior. Um filme inesquecível, tanto qto a sua música tema: We've never danced.
If you watch carefully you will notice the film grain and lighting suddenly change mid scene where Kelly McGillis is walking down the pavement, realises Timothy Hutton is close and turns around. The original film ending was they never found each other but following screen test audiences unhappy with it the studio forced the director Alan Rudolph to change it to a happy ending. The film would have been even more powerful with the original ending. In life we dont all meet our soulmate. I'm 56 and like Timothy Hutton said in the film ' there is someone in my life but I haven't found her yet'. Good luck to everyone looking for that special person.
This movie has something extraordinary about it that resonates with the human soul. Perhaps a divine 'hand' was behind it where cast, storyline and music came together to pierce the heart and soul. Another video , somewhat linked, but coming from another angle is the American Scholar Hamza Yusuf's lecture on death which I have aslo watched countless times . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PYsrfwbMomg.htmlsi=3eFT36aYx7mjMe-X
