People, stop using screwdrivers to pry things off your car. Just run down to any hardware store, harbor freight, etc and buy plastic pry tools. Since they're made from semi-rigid plastic, they flex a little so they don't mar metal surfaces or glass.
They designed the e36 like this so it could be recycled more easily. I suppose it's only a problem for those of us who want to keep it around.😂 They didn't want to have metal or plastic impregnated into the fiberboard door panels. An attempt to keep all materials separated. FYI it's often cheaper to get all black door handles than to replace one Chrome.
the door panels and both inner and outer door handles are literally the reason I sold my E36. As much as I loved that chassis I just couldn't handle it anymore. I replaced each handle twice.
Nothing happens after I installed mine. Is there any troubleshooting I can do? I made sure all the cables were connected properly. Might try disconnecting my battery and then connecting it again to see if it works
Hey, i got an rtd and it does that 1st gear thing. I’m not a fan, do you know if there’s any way to make it stay in place of 1st. I know a couple of friends with rtd’s and theirs doesn’t do it
Has everyone tried pushing the B/C button on the turn signal stick? you change from ambient temp to mpg and then to clock display. The woman I bought my04 325i had it for 9 years and never set the clock. I've had it for 15 minutes and I now have a cluster clock and another on my stock stereo. No need to take anything apart.
I definitely believe in replacing all of the low quality plastic parts with an aluminum/metal upgrade and OEM rubber hoses with the high quality silicone ones (if available) is a must to increase reliability to make BMW ownership easy as possible.
The wheels look amazing bro. That’s a great color also. What color is that? I’m curious about the corner markers. Are they from a 328 or 323? Did you choose orange on purpose?
Best thing you can do to ANY car IMO. Doesn't matter if it's an E46 or a freakin econo box like a Neon. Three pedals or nothing is my motto. Makes it so much more fun to drive, and obviously you have a lot more control over the vehicle. The SMG sucks ass compared to the later DCT trans' anyways so regardless it's the better move. The DCT is WORLDS BETTER if your into auto trans.' SMG's are always so 'clunky' shift really rough, especially at lower RPM. Makes anyone look like a noob when you're driving. S54's are so awesome that having that crappy SMG bolted to it is really a buzzkill. I'm a VW/ Audi and BMW tech that's been turning wrenches on these and pretty much anything with an engine for a little more than 25 years. The amount of SMG failures I've seen alone also makes this swap mandatory IMO. Like a completely different car with the manual. Good video. Thanks for sharing man. 👍
@@jinendow definitely man! I've swapped to manual trannies on a good amount of all kinds of stuff over the years, and I've never had a customer or a friend that I've done the job for that's been disappointed whatsoever.
are your front headlights factory m3 ones or if not could you hint at which ones you bought currently looking to restore mines for something a bit better looking and working non m model e46 though
I am thinking doing the same for my steel grey M3 which OEM fender side marker did you go with? I searched that they share it with E38, but i can't confirm this elsewhere
Dont do poly… only go poly for your suspension components with bushings. If you have a daily/street car you would want to just stick with solid rubber. The vibration can get rather excessively annoying during daily use with poly engine/trans/diff mounts
