Z’s used to have the best features in california. From 2012 to 2015 there were some huge professionally built and groomed stup ups drops gaps. I would stay all day and ride and photography. Was a paradise. Some kinda police came and tore everything down. After multiple rebuilds and tear downs people gave up on it. But make no mistake it was the shit. I’m fond of it because it’s where I learned to be in the air and once you e been in the air on a bike there was no going back to rock gardens. Air air air. Thought me to ride Black Rock, whistler, north island. It all came from OG Z’s. S worked at the bike shop at the bottom of the hill. Best bike shop on earth. ABS!!!
I'm coming from a couple hours a way. If I have a dj and full sus and want to do the big lines which do you recommend I bring? It's hard to judge speed vs size from my phone. Thanks
I used a set of old xt 11 speed xt cranks i had lying around, a shimano 11 speed chain, and some kind of amazon 11 speed chainring with an amazon 13t cog. you can use anything i’d recommend something with 165mm or shorter cranks (unless you have a rlly long frame) and the gear ratio is totally up to your preference.
Hey man, I have the same frame I’m looking to build for a dirt jumper. How do you like it? I’m torn between buying a dj or building it out. I’ve always been a built not bought kinda guy. Did you change out the bb? I saw the crankset change that’s where I’m at and deciding on right now. Love the video.
Hey thanks for reaching out! The frame is alright as a dirt jumper the only problem I have with it is mine is only rim brake compatible which really isn't the best for a dirt jump bike and it means you have to get rim brake compatible wheels too (which I by mistake did not lol.) I did change the bb to an old one I had lying around, but I can't remember the spacing I used but really you can just mess around with the spacers until the chain line is as straight as possible. Sorry about the delayed response and glad you're taking the time to build yours up! Yours will definitely turn out better than mine I rushed through the process quite a bit.
@@TommyBikes I noticed that watching your video. It'd kind of strange it's V brake only on a 2014 frame. I have a 2007 Hardrock frame that I sourced (which is why I came across this video) and it has both disc and V brake mounts.
Designated MTB trails are like city bike lanes . pedestrians and hikers need to stay the fk out . if it's a shared trail then always give the right of way to hikers and horses.
@@mtb_lucas9140 wait how come two of your videos are just recordings of pinkbike friday fails videos? oh wait you just stole their content and still got no views and likes nice
Sorry I didn't see this for so long but if you're still interested I'll gladly sell it to you once I put some rim brake compatible wheels back on and clean everything up a bit!
