@@Doctortech1 Apologies, I was thinking the dock had the USB-C connector in the docking part. It has a cable that comes out from the back which is quite short. It will plug into the Ally X but the Ally X will be off centre (need to move it to the right) when inserted into the docking slot. You could use a longer USB-C cable to make it more central.
Would you consider the software on this more or less finicky than the GPD WM2 software? Ive had my WM2 for a while now but it can just be a bit finicky at times, and trying to play certain games will absolutely fry my hands sometimes so i was considering selling it to buy one of these.
The software should run pretty much exactly the same on both devices. We try the same and similar games and haven't had any issues with one in particular. One thing is the resolution settings do reset when upgrading the graphics drivers on the ONEXPLAYER, you need to run a reg file afterwards to add them back in. Hopefully this gets fixed by ONEXPLAYER as its a little annoying. The ONEXPLAYER has a more natural hand grip when attached to the device or the controller connector. But with the WM2 you do have the advantage of it being built in and better overall portability.
Its an okay dedicated android handheld gaming device.. However i cannot help but to think that it is a little useless in an age where phones have already advanced enough to match or exceed it in every metric.
These handhelds have the benefit of built in controls. Personally I find touch screen controls awful to play with, a built in controller is far better. Yes, you can find controller addons for phones, but you look a bit stupid answering the phone with them attached :)
@@DroiX_Store honestly it's decent for the price but only if you have a shitty phone. If you have a even a low-mid range phone already it'd just be better to buy a controller attachment and only put it on when gaming. A $200 phone and controller would be a better option than this.
I just ordered one, what will be my 4th device from OneXPlayer :) I have already the two other X1's, whereas the one with AMD is superior over the Intel one (obviously). I am really happy with all these devices and never use my Legion Go or ROG Ally.
Not on this model it is quite old now. Some newer models such as the GPD WIN Mini have 120Hz ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l7VrnGGMYkI.html
Sorry that is way too small for me. Even the buttons ars tiny u will need a stylus tablet pen to type. That is good for my child since she has tiny hands. It would be great for my collections. Just use it to watch and stream movies.
We haven't had any major issues with OCuLink. Make sure you have good cables is important thing. Also the order of booting up is also important: switch on the G1, wait a few seconds, then switch on the device should work fine every time.
While you are playing a game, you will notice a very thin white line on the right side of the screen. If you slide from the right edge to left of the screen it will open the overlay.
Very tempting. I mostly want a back up for my beast desktop that blurs the line between productivity, portability, and some low spec indie gaming. I don't expect to run modern AAA but would like the option to play a lot of my indie games, emulators(up to PS2), or open source Doom. The Win Max 2 is certainly an option and doesn't cost much more but the 10 inch size is really stretching it on portability, plus the weight makes it unappealing. I think I'm going for the Pocket 3. I can just do big games at home. My biggest issue is how the heating for these devices are. Would you say it gets really hot under high loads to the point where it bothers you? That was a big issue with the GPD Win 1 where even in SNES games it would become a portable easy bake oven too hot to hold. I'm not exaggerating, it got that hot in any game.
You may want to wait a little longer for the GPD Pocket 4 droix.net/blogs/gpd-pocket-4-overview/ which should be out by the end of the year. It has the same form factor as the Pocket 3, but the latest AMD CPU. The Pocket 3 series has very good heat management. We recently reviewed the lower cost Pocket 3 model with Intel 7505 CPU, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qpeD0XNHEL8.html and the temperatures under high load were no problem.
The 10+ videos are better, in my opinion. I always prefer them with some deep details and all. This one here was way too fast and way too little information to me. Especially when it comes to the controls. Thanks for the effort!
Nice device, but I decided to skip GPD probably to the next generation, instead I will take "ONEXPLAYER X1" And my frenglish became much better, I do write like google translate.
I just purchased a Minisforum v3. I really like it. However, I think this may be more what I'm looking for. Probably the Standard x1. 11" seems about perfect as a 3in1. The v3 is great, but larger than what I have in my mind. Seeing what I've been seeing about the Ryzen 890M and Intel Lunar Lake now, I may just wait for that generation to show up in a product like this. From what I've seen those next gen chips can add 15-25% better performance from the 8840u in this, and my v3.
This is exactly what happened to me. I had a Minisforum V3 and thought I could use a telescopic controller with it. And you can (the G8+)! But it's way too big to hold for any length of time and it doesn't feel comfortable. If you're using an external bluetooth controller, it's fine. But I just got an X1 and I love it! The d-pad isn't great for fighting games and there is a slight cheapness to the controller overall, but it works fine for most scenarios. The device is so versatile...it truly does feel like a laptop, tablet and a handheld in one.
@@JB-tp6uj the v³ is a great device. I really like it. But yeah, had something else in mind. I just found a great eBay deal on a GPD Win Max 2 (7840u). I think it's gonna be what I was after. The onex would be too, but couldn't find a used efurb unit to make it make money sense for me. Gonna return my v3, check out this Win Max 2, and probably buy a new OneX or GPD when the new amd chips hit those devices. Thanks for sharing your experience

The only reason holding me back is this device has a 60hz screen. I wish it can come with 120hz so I can play side scroll platformers at a high frame rates.
Music was really distracing.wtf was that seriously..is the music even necessary? If you think it's necessary than why that first song?also the other song with words. You should avoid music with words honestly or bombastic sounds
Other than this machine being extremely fine tuned in the tdp department even more so than arguably the steam deck . But ! Seen other vids stating playing at higher wattages (tdp) makes it unplayable due to the noticeable heat on the built in controller. Is this true ? Thanks dude
We have seen that 20W TDP is the recommended setting for this model. Our model was able to go higher but it we did see some performance drops compared to say the GPD WIN 4. This is most likely due to thermal throttling.
A large part of this may come down to personal preference. I would say if you plan to use the device as a laptop for web browsing, work etc then go for the GPD. The setup is better than the ONEXPLAYER for this, the GPD has a proper keyboard rather than the ONEXPLAYERs. If you are mainly gaming then either model is great, but with the ONEXPLAYER you do have the option to use the controller connector and not have to hold the device. But yo be fair you could do this with any external controller with the GPD. For performance, they use the same processor so you may find some differences here and there, but nothing major. Check our review of the WIN MAX 2 8840U at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uj-p6fOBT_s.html
Thanks to you I knew what to do when I upgraded to a 8 terabyte double sided ssd. It works no problem. I’ve left it on for 7 hours when it was cloning my 4 terabyte ssd. Thanks again
The CPU supports up to 25W TDP so I would advise setting it to that as the highest recommended. Before setting it, run a benchmark to get a base score or FPS number. Then set it to 25W and compare the results. If they are a good improvement, leave the benchmark or a game running for a while and check the temperature of the device to ensure it is being cooled enough. You may find that 20W TDP is a better balance for performance and power. The main thing is check the temperatures as it could overheat or thermal throttle the CPU/GPU,
I was hoping to make a short video for you to show the game, but the game was freezing just past the main menu on AetherSX2. It seems the emulator is not compatible with this game.
