I don't watch AJLT, but obviously I know what happened on there so that adds a whole different element to that last lyric! /cries/ I always love your Carrie and Big videos. This one is no exception! Oh wow that was SO good and unique. I love how you edited this amazing song I already kinda know inside and out. It worked SO well for them. I've never seen the show and so many of these voiceovers and even just things revealed about their storyline together were very new to me. The opening title screen with both loss and love "of my life" was really well done and creative and I love that you saved the "love of my life" voiceover for right at the end when she sings how the guy is the "loss" of hers. Powerful. I also like how the transistion overlay you use around "engulfed in flames" at the end has a hint of like orange in it I think, or at least some kind of warm colors but also you used a very fitting "ink bleeds" overlay.... oh my first time watching i missed the "hole" one too. So cool to see the extra lyric matching in your editing style and I love it. So the things that stood out to me on first watch were: the way his face looked at 0:33 with the idea of him saying no, he doesn't feel nothing, and his "you've never been in love" seemed so powerful and such a great set up for what I knew of the rest of this song too. And I'd never seen that interaction vidded with voiceovers before as far as I recall, so I was unfamiliar with it like much of the stuff in the video. So it was a first time seeing that and it struck me for sure. "You low down boy" when she was shocked to find out he is currently married (or still doesn't even know it's current) eek it's so good. The "heaven" voiceover match for the "heaven" lyric seemed so carefully done! The 2nd time "killing time at the cemetary" when she's older and he's presumably dead seemed to work extra well. Maybe because she's making peace with how super dead their relationship is by then. Mr. Steal Your Girl with Aiden seemed like the closest match you could've made given the limited stuff I can see in this video plus the limited stuff I know about them as a pair. Her covering her face during the "secondhand embarrassed" lyric struck me the first time too as SO good, especially since she's still in bed when she does it and that phrase is in the context of her not being able to get out of bed. Also her at what I'm guessing was his funeral, a fancy presentation about how important of a person he was, as a "braid of lies" to comb through seemed to work really well. Now we're into stuff I maybe?? Only noticed the 2nd time around though, I'm not sure. I might've noticed on the first watch, I'm not sure, how good the drama of the wedding dress moment where she drops the phone matches the drama of the line "all these plot twists and dynamite" ;) I just noticed on the second watch how you matched "cinephile" carefully too! And that "holy ghost" might be kinda like the vibes of him seeming to be "everywhere" she goes in a way that she can't hardly believe. "Who's gonna tell me the truth" with "I have a secret to tell you" works pretty well... And matching "should've let it stay buried" right alongside "was Big a big mistake?" is powerful too. I love this vid of yours so much. Haven't seen maybe any vids to this song yet because I didn't get around to watching the one I knew existed for one of my ships once I had finally gotten through listening to it the first time and recording my authentic first reaction... but yeah I think for many ships it's very difficult to vid this one and you just. You found such a good ship for it but also you worked really hard to make it work even though the lyrics are quite tricky at times. Amazing job!

In the end both situations cause grief so there are similarities. Yeah there aren't that many scenes of Big and Aidan together so that was one of the more challenging parts. Thank you so much for mentioning what caught your attention the first time vs the second time too :) I don't know if I've seen any videos set to this song yet. I'm gonna have to look now!

My personal take is, yes, they love each other. But the critical point is it’s not the expected romantic love. It’s a deep and abiding respect, with no romantic edge, which is monumentally unusual in stories these days.
I am sorry but Hawk didn’t deserve Skippy. Skippy was so pure, Hawk loved him in a way he knew how but was kinda as*ole to him too. My empathy goes for Skippy, he was the sweetest, boldest, most authentic and strongest character of all.
