This channel is dedicated for bagpipe music lovers, enjoy the sound of the pipes. I play myself since 1980 and got tution at the (old) College of Piping in Glasgow from Seumas MacNeill, Angus John MacLellan and Gordon Walker. At the moment I play in the Pipe Band of the Swiss Capital, the 'City of Berne Piping Society'. I'm founder and president oft this pipe band. Alasdair was my first ever judge when I first ever competed at the age of 12. I had to play him a 4-part 2/4 march. And I was so freaking nervous. At that time, he was literally ranked as the best bagpiper in the world. Despite my nerves, I did so well that Alasdair awarded me the 1st place Gold Medal for a 2/4 march. I won 1st in Hornpipe/Jig and 2nd in Piobreached from Ed Neigh and was awarded the Piper of the Day plaque for the entire highland game. It was quite the experience and I still have the handwritten notes from Alasdair himself regarding my performance. It's so sad how he went. At the time his son was a grade above me. He was pretty good too.

I've listened to this several times, can't get enough. I was fortunate enough to get lessons from him at Moravian college in Bethlehem. He even tied my elk hide bag in for a class. Mesmerizing to watch him play. RIP
It is such a diabolical shame that all our most famous police pipe bands have gone or been subsumed in to other areas! Especially our capital, no longer having a police pipe band! Is our once great pride in our heritage sacrificed in the name of economy? Pipe Major John Anderson.
