If you want to hear the revolution, you don't need to wait for the solo , for tapping, just the rhythmic parts. How many so much beauty ?? Everthing else is merely an extension of this beauty
Sounds like there's a slapback echo on his lead guitar. It starts in the right speaker and quickly pans to the left one. Or one might refer to it as "Multi Tap Delay." I've always loved this sound. I distinctly remember hearing this guitar solo driving with my brother late at night when I was young. It was foggy out and the music and the solo perfectly portrayed it. It left a huge influence on my own guitar playing. Love this delay sound.
The song that introduced me to Van Halen -- Chicago radio did not play VH I at all. VH II was the first album they played. I remember it to this day, summer of '79 paining my then GF's house listening to the radio. Saw the next 3 tours! Changed my life forever!
Lol can't imagine the restraint it took to just play those single root notes at first. Entwistle lets all hell loose at the chorus and never goes back.
stay humble. .there's always going to be someone out there who's better than you, prettier than you, and has a bigger following than you. MARK.MY.WORDS.
i’ll never forget 2019 my junior year of high school listening to this over and over in class. It was right in the time of football season and this music totally captures that time for me. I was getting heavily back into the rock music i was raised on. what a great time it was. i’ll hold those memories close forever that’s forsure! long live rock and roll babyyyy
I think its impossible to play that rythym part with the harmonics on just one guitar. They had to be overdubbing two tracks at least. Obviously they produced the shit outta this thing. Nobody on RU-vid has it right and when u watch live vids and the RU-vid video thats apparently steve How's hands playing the riff he plays it totally different
Every note, move, nuance of John Entwistle is pregnant with utterly understated genius. It’s always like a knife when the camera on live Who footage shifts for a split second or two at a time to the Ox and he only gets 1.8% of the attention while contributing 180% with all four members of the Who dynasty
