Darek - my apologies- please dont be offended by my sign-language. There's two things happening here in my mind- you are hoping for a last lap opportunity between the other two cars, and in advertently becoming a spoiler between 1st and 2nd in 944 Spec. I honestly dont blame you for being where you are- I'd be praying for a get together or drama between the other 2 cars hoping to be the benefactor. But- what I do think would help you (and us) is maximizing your lap. From 20:16 on- you're never on an optimal line. It seems (in my opinion) you're concentrated only on your proximity with Ali, but are compromising your line (and speed). This becomes even more evident over madness, where you are pretty far track-right, and now have to over-slow and pinch your line at the bottom of madness. This in-turn backs me up. Ideally, you'd have moved over left in front of me into braking for China beach, maximized your line and been able to pass the white 944 going up over China. Since there is a yellow after the Honda bridge, you'd want to be poised and ready for an opportunity just clear of it. The lesson I always preach in coaching to passers is to always maximize your line- its safer (for the cars your passing), you are controlling their line to a degree, as well as maximizing your speed. Stay as close to the race line as possible at all times.
@@dpracingdan Not offended just wondering where I could have improved. I wasn't as comfortable in the changing conditions that race + being newer to w2w I didn't want to collect anyone. I watched some videos from multiple perspectives and found some things to work on. Thanks.
Check out the great racing that goes on in 944 Spec in NASA’s Great Lakes Region. Multiple-time National Champion Dan Piña dices through in-class and out-of-class traffic and goes on to take the win over No. 919 Tara Brewster. Great stuff!
@ 8:01, I had been building confidence through this fast sweeper. I'd already elminated braking entering the corner, so I attempted to do it flat. NOPE. Definitely can't go through there flat! lol.
@@johnhulbert4377 it could be a 3.0 that someone dropped in from an S2. Or even possibly a built 2.7 from an 89 Base model. My 944S is a 2.6 DOHC 16v engine and it sounds very similar to the car running so it could even be one of those lol
Next time just door-slam him. That'll teach him how real this chit REALLY is.......... ;^) Great racing for sure. You guys always do a great job of respecting each other out there
BOSS 347 w a Paxton SL1200. It's a complete world challenge kit but not w the SLA. Formula D rules prohibits changing the suspension style from it's original design.
