Thanks a lot for the video, one of the first i found that shows real life, not just pretty parks and posh hotels and restaurants. Which I had your guts (or your friend with me there) to explore the same way. i ll be there in september for a week for work. Want to explore but kind of worried. Tips ?
@@SHUSSBAR don’t even be slightly worried broski I wouldn’t have been there 3 times and want to go many more times if it were anything to worry about! It’s just intense that’s all, 1 - Addis Ababa the only crime you can expect is petty theft of your phone on the street but it’s subtle and non offensive and very rare. In months I’ve spent there not once did I feel in danger. 2 - walk with purpose, don’t stop and check your phone in the street. Figure out the journey in your head first, memorise it and get there with a swift walk ignoring the hustlers. Don’t stop and be nice as much as your’ll want to because your’ll be there all day if you do, it’s sad but you have to be a little cold in the city especially when first there. 3 - Download “Feres” app for Uber it’s the one I used for months, it’s reliable and works the best. 4 - Have Ethiopian currency (Birr) which you can get at the airport atms. It’s alway handy and you can only pay taxis with it (they will ask for dollars because of the black market but don’t give them because they get double) 5 - Get a SIM card “Ethiotelecom” at the airport it’s AMAZING internet across the city and is about $25 at the airport or whatever Birr that is after you go to the atm. 6 - Take dollars, I will explain over email why (lostwithabeer@gmail.Com) Finally 7- have fun it’s amazing, I met people just walking into bars and people will love you dependant on how extroverted you are. Either way, send me an email and I have very good friends there who will take you out safely I can arrange that if you wish. Good luck! And Thankyou so much for watching and commenting 🙏❤️🍺🍺🍺
Wow you're amazing and fearless. to be honest your look and shirt fits with us. you don't look tourist but casual. Damn you get the full experience of Sheger's Downtown. You killed it with the shisha. We love you. come back more often please.
@@tedichan6765 man I love Ethiopia and miss it! You guys are something extraordinary, what a beautiful comment 🙏❤️ it means A lot and I like the detail of your description. I shall 100% be back I’m obsessed! See you soon my friend, Thank you for watching 🍺🍺🍺
@@lostwithabeard btw there is a ceremony there every 5 years on July 4. So now even tho the time has passed they invested a lot and the city is way cleaner and more beautiful than it was a year ago... I will be waiting for your video
as an ethiopian who walks those streets to and from work each day.. i can confirm those roads are hella dangerous .. 😂😂 not least when the roads are wet and you're carrying a selfie stick!
Interserting watching it from a tourists point of view. Living here all your life, you get desentisised the abnormalities of the rest of the wolrd and its very intersenting seeing it through a fresh lense.
dude i wanna be with u in one of ur videos if u r still in adiss i just love ur comapany and ur positive vibe and it will be my treat also so let me knw wht u think down here
@@shegervibes1610 love the energy dude!!! I’m not back in Ethiopia for a little while but 100% when I’m back - send me an email (lostwithabeer@gmail.Com) And we’ll link up for sure, as long as Tibs and bira are involved 😉
The first very known meaning is yes its "sunburned" meaning Black (Ne*ro in Latin)meaning BLACK so we can say the whole BLACK people are Ethiopians and that's v beautiful meaning it unifies the whole Black nation . 2nd meaning related with a Greek word"opos"which is in last syllables of the name meaning,"poetic ",wide eyed or Open minded as also (you can see from most ancient Ethiopian church pictures -which Ethiopian artists uses the most) and "aitho"means "light up "or "kindle" so this is v beautiful meaning also. The 3rd meaning is realated with the biblical facts which may need further study as it is Eth.is the most ancient county and has very long history since Genesis- that is believed our descendants are from CUSH the oldest son of Ham and grandson of Noah...as from reference from Ethiopian in Bible History it is described as follows:-"which in the old covenant, when the very name “Cush” could send chills down Israelite spines, the Lord promised he would one day adopt Ethiopia as a “home-born” son and a child of Zion (Ps. 87:4). One day, he promised, Cush would bring tribute to Jerusalem (Isa. 45:14). These promises form the story arc of Ethiopia’s long history. Every time you see Ethiopia is still on the map, you’re seeing real-world proof of the faithfulness of God." So all the meanings are very convincing and align with the History of Eth. And present day proof of tangible statues, Church paintings, archeology findings ...etc ... The last but not the least meaning(which some scholars view) is which has to do with the true name of God that's found on the last syllables of the country 's name .... It goes on and on and on like that - Ethiopia is a never ending concept...so keep searching deep it's very interesting 🧐🤗🥰
