Wait what system are you guys listening on? Does it have incredible bass fidelity? Because a lot of their choruses are really bass heavy beats to emphasize dancing (but they still sing to get the crowd involved). I remember the first times I listened to batter up in particular it was with speakers instead of headphones (with good bass fidelity) and it's a drastically different experience.
Ahyeon was on health hiatus!! And yeah during their fanmeets, Batter Up has been going crazy (especially the remix). YG actually said that Batter Up and Sheesh were specifically made in the traditional YG style, so I can see what they were trying to do (fun fact, Asa recently said she contributed with writing that final part). Dream and Stuck in the Middle, (along with Like That) definitely show a different side of them, and show what they’re trying to do with BM. Some people have an issue that there’s not a specific concept to the group, but really their concept is just talent and versatility (basically they’re like, we can do it all so why shouldnt we). It’s also tricky for them, bc if they do an intentional YG-style song they get a lot of hate and called copy-cats, and when they switch it up everyone’s like wtf is YG doing, and again get hate.Hopefully they get to show an even more unique side of them with the upcoming full album. Asa and Haram have said they’re writing more and more songs, so maybe we’ll get to see that too, which might also really help them veer a bit away from the rigid YG formula while still bringing the YG DNA (and Rami’s always drawn to RnB so maybe we’ll get to see more of that too, which I think suits them well). Definitely, definitely check out Dream, which was released almost immediately after the Last Evaluation and member announcement video, and the MV is great! It is a ballad, but it builds spectacularly and I’ve watched it make grown men and women cry, its just so good.
Really appreciate an actual explanation of what you think is going on sonically that's throwing you off about stuff. Pretty interested to see your review of the live experience after you attend the concert.
Babymonster is famous so I expected so much from them but I kinda lost interest in them as soon as their debut album released. Actually, I’m so confused about their concept, music and lyrics. When you seriously go through the lyrics some of them doesn’t makes any sense. And I like, like that as well but it has Charlie puth vibes so it’s like a cover song by BM.
Well I believe you guys have made perfectly clear that you say you’re BABYMONSTER fans! But the fact that Like That is your favorite song over and over! Pretty much makes very clear that you’re not real fans! Every song that y’all reacted to you had issues! BATTER UP and SHEESH will probably be more of the style that fits BABYMONSTER although at this point they’re still looking for a common ground! The great thing about BABYMONSTER is they don’t sound like those other K-pop groups and hopefully they’ll keep that way! 🤘🙏🏻
That’s crazy. This is probably my favorite group this year so far, liked everything I’ve heard from them and I even got a ticket to their fan meeting in Korea. Yet I’m not a real fan 😂😂
@@HallyuBlastEnt I guess I just don’t understand! I Love everything they have put out and so it’s always hard to hear anything negative about their music! I’m just being overly sensitive when it comes to BABYMONSTER! I hope you enjoy the show! And I’ll try to be a little more reserved!🤘🙏🏻
That’s totally fair. With kpop there’s always gonna be a bias factor with groups so when it comes to newer groups we aren’t familiar with, we can really only go off of what we hear. Lol no worries tho, just look at comments on some of our other BabyMonster vids and you’ll see the way people take our comments differently. At the end of the day we enjoy this group but sometimes songs just vibe with people differently. Still can’t wait for more new music from them tho 😂
Batter Up's YG producer is actually Big Tone. He is a rapper. Also Baby Monster, Asa got named credits for lyrics and song composition. You may have seen Big Tone train both Asa and Ruka in the final evaluation. For Sheesh and Forever, the YG producer is Choice37. Batter Up is actually a Battle rap song. It was dropped in November 2023 when Blackpink contract negotiation was stuck. Note the title Batter Up, in baseball it means next batter to step up to bat. Throughout the song YG was talking to Blackpink. By December, Batter Up achieved its intended purpose, it got Blackpink to sign their group contracts when Batter Up smashed the most views in 24 hours by a debut, smashed the fastest 100 million in kpop debut history, Blackpink signed. By the time Batter Up hit 200 million views, it had smashed the Blackpink's boombayah fastest 200 million debut record which had held for 7 years. It deserves top marks a 10 out of 10.
There isn't a single BabyMonster song that you completely like....🤣 Ok, same thing again, only the Batter Up chorus is better than Twice's entire discography 😂😂

It's no longer the debut song because it was 6 members. YG officially stated "Sheesh" is the official debut released on April 1st. That's why 401 (hotel room) was in "Forever".
The chorus’s by YG can be (purposefully) way different. I personally find that after several listens it starts fitting in more, and for a few songs, seemingly essential after it grows on me. This was true for Batter Up, and I feel Ahyeon’s contribution to Batter Up really adds to it. Pls check out their “fan meets” (really concerts) for live versions of this and all their songs so far including Ahyeon. Thx guys 👍 ❤❤❤-❤-❤❤❤
This song is such a fun patchwork 😄 Nayeon's my bias, too, after a bit of back and forth since I got into Twice - I just keep coming back to her kek And Pop wasn't really for me, but this one I love.
Yaaaaay you reacted to my favourite! 🎉☺ I LOVE this song! It's a perfectly done sensual song, and that's one of my favourite kinds of songs. Kiss Of Life pull this kind of song off so well
Try reacting to 'Its Live JUSTICE Band LIVE Concert' video it has all members singing JUSTICE fully (including the distortion part) with stand mics and plus there's a live band, its amazing. Also they are now on their 10th mini album 'VirtuouS', including intro (7' dreamcatcher) and 4 songs (JUSTICE, STOMP, 2 Rings, Firefly), if ya'll wanna check those out. Thank you for the Deukae reaction! <3
Dreamcatcher was debuted in 2017. They're same generation with Blackpink, but Korean don't recognized them hence they're from small company. Obviously they're the best at everythings, especially when singing live.
it's funny how some people love the stutter and feel it makes the song whereas others hate that part 😅 I personally love it it gives it a more modern sound
That part didn’t necessarily bother me but I do wish it was a bit louder. The mixing in this song felt a bit off to me but a lot of others thought it was fine lol. Just one of those things I guess 😂
The EP and LP terminology comes from the days of old with vinyl records. EPs were usually pressed onto a 7in records (sometimes 10in records) that played at 45 rpm so you'd only get about 3-4 minutes per side, less than 10 minutes total. Most of the time artists put the single and a b-side on these releases and that was it. Eventually the LP was created and played at 33rpm which let artists put about 15-20 minutes per side. In modern context, there's no real industry standard for these terms like there once was, but usually EPs are less of a commitment from both the artist and the label whereas the album is perceived as a bigger deal and doesn't happen as often. In western music, once an artist reaches a certain popularity, they basically stop releasing anything other than albums due to contract negotiations, but on the kpop side of things, EPs and albums are usually incorporated side by side into contract negotiations. The EP usually only has one single that the group uses to promote the release with and the LP usually has 2-4 singles the group will use at different points during the promotion cycle.
I think reactors just experiencing actual hip hop record in kpop. Hope they keep it this way as their signature image. Do kpop-oriented tracks on their b-sides. Technically, this is part of their debut. They couldn't put it in their debut single album because: 1) there is more to it. 2) single album would have to be an EP/mini album for having 4 unique tracks.
Yea there aren’t too many groups that go all in for rapping. I feel like like that is sort of going away with a lot of groups. Ahh interesting! Regardless I’m excited for their next release 😁😁
I'm actually so glad you guys GET my obsession with their songs and energy, its just insanity, if you rly want your mind blown, you HAVE. To see their live stage of this, they manage to sing and rap this song live to one of the hardest choreographies i have ever seen a group do
Ohhh I haven’t watch a live performance from them yet cause I’m trying to see how to include those in our upload schedule. But I am super excited to see it! Their energy in these songs is just insane!
