You really need to redo this video. Painfull to listen to. All the others are good and I appreciate you but this one is very difficult to learn from with all the distraction.
hey I appreciate you making these flash card videos- I've gone through every one. if I can make just one suggestion it would be that you show the formulas necessary to arrive at the correct answers along with the correct answers. it just makes it easier to understand as there is more math in the general exam than technician
I'd love to try a POTA activation soon. I've been getting some contacts as a hunter, but haven't done an activation myself. I'd like to try the Crawford Co Conservation Area, Sam Parr and Red Hills eventually. KA9PHI
Retevis really screwed themselves over with their emails from Ines asking for positive reviews. Can't take any Retevis reviewers for their word now. Retevis is definitely in my do not buy list, even if the reviewers say it's their own opinion.
I received this before any of those emails. And my email never said any of the sort. Overall for the price it's not a bad radio. But I'm sure retevis isn't the only one that asks big channels for those kind of reviews. Thanks for watching 👀
Yeah at home I get S9 noise, I brought my rig to a country location on a cliff top and was blissfully silent. Weak signals were easy. At the moment an ideal excuse to go on a picnic. This was a 40 minute drive, would like to try a closer location.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other.... Both are good radios. As far as audio with the IC-7300, I simply added an external MFJ speaker and was satisfied with how well I could hear both voice and CW. Having high-fidelity audio is great for listening to music, but not for radio communications. There seems to be an entire list of bugs in the FT-710 that makes me weary of getting one. I'll stick with the IC-7300, a rock-solid proven performer. 73!
This is a great series and i really appreciate it but video 2 has so much audio distortion its practically unwatchable and now video 3 has the audio level so low that when an ad comes up its blasts your eardrums! At least yall fixed the distortion 😊
This is a big project will little incentive. KC9PHK gave up his time to build the question and answer slides and then read them all. The equipment used previously has aged and not HD quality. Its created by amateurs in an amateur real life environment, not a studio.

Exactly what is the thread for the whip adapter, and where can I find one? I have one of these antennas and I've never used it. Thought about modifying the power cord so I can use it with a West Mountain Radio TargeTuner, and mount it on my retired Police Ford Explorer.. de KC8MWG
I really love President Electronics. I have the President MCKinley 2 EU version which you can modify as an export version. You can NOT modify the MCKinley II FCC, only the eu version MCKinley II but when you do that you go over to the darkside. It is really a great radio compact small and with a lot of functions. just received mine recently. this morning picked up a few very strong signals on 20m. very happy with it; the only problem I have is the slider on the coil is very hard to slide up and down. is there a way to fix that.
Its easy! You see that tiny little out of focus spot right there in the middle of the blur? You just take a flathead screwdriver to it! Pry that thingy off! Thats all ya got to do!!!😳
I ordered this adapter based off of this video. But buyers be aware that it comes in different versions with different threads for different antennas. pay close attention when ordering the one I ordered I will be sending back.
I find that the menu system on the 710 is much easier than the IC7300. Once everything is set up, you just hit the func button and you have the main menu(most used items). I also love the 3D waterfall. I use it exclusively. Signals stand out!
Do you have the link to the antenna? I bought a truck with the hole drilled and left an antenna execpt they cut the coax, and its not the kind that threads to the mount where i can just swap the cable...i need a new maunt as well...
When I got mine, I thought "I just paid $10.00 FLAT RATE SHIPPING for a 3 Ounce antenna, in a bubble wrapped envelope! What a FK'n Rip Off!" And the Price seems high, but it is well made, and works well, and it is tunable!
So why did they use 3/8 x 20 threads instead of the fairly standard 3/8 x 24 threads on all their stuff. Now it is incompatible with all my other coils and whips. Very stupid ... cant even use it on my mag mounts ... sending it back for refund as all my mounts are 3/8 x 24 thread.
@@59radio22 Yeah no big thing ... I tend to be a bit harsh ... Just wish all my antenna bits and pieces could be used together instead of keeping them separate. It is a well made antenna and plenty heavy duty.
They are M10 threads. Metric, 10mm. Sorry to say, but metric is what most of the world uses, but heh). 3/8 is an interference fit with it, so you'll get a bit of "bite" with it.
Very helpful! Just got the radio and having come from using my VX-7R for more than a decade, all these videos are really helping me figure out these bells and whistles.
