Income tax rate is currently 22% - more than UK. But there is no higher rate so anyone who pays higher rate in UK will be better off. No inheritance or Capital Gains taxes. But most living costs are higher, and transport to/from the island is expensive.
The Eleanor Rigby statue is on Stanley St in Liverpool city centre not in Woolton, which is miles away. There is a grave of an Eleanor Rigby in St Peter's church Woolton, which may or may not have been the inspiration behind the song.
Wanting to retire to Spain.... BETTER SAID ,THAN DONE... BRITS AREN'T E.U. CITIZENS ... THUS THEY AREN'T ENTITTLE TO THE FANTASTIC SPANISH HEALTH SYSTEM. THEY NEED VISA TO ENTRY IN SPAIN.... THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO STAY A 90 DAYS MAX.PERIOD.. HAVING TO PAY BIG FINES IF THEY OVER STAY.... IT ISN'T EASY TO RETIRE IN SPAIN UNLESS YOU ARE FROM THE E.U. HOPEFULLY YOU GRASPED THAT NOW...BUT PERHAPS....NOT YET.... TRY AUSTRALIA...A FAR BETTER CHOICE FOR THE LIKES OF YOU.... IS VERY SUNY AND VERY WARM THERE TOO. YOU ARE BIRDS OF A FEATHER AND TALK THE SAME LINGO.... YOUR CULTURAL SIMILARITY WITH SPAIN AND IT'S PEOPLE IS .... N. O. N. E. 😂😅😢😊
British Imperialism still alive and well they are imergrents n I think expats. With Brexit being such a success why do so many of you Brits want to leave Beautiful Britain and when you do emergrate all you do is want British pubs clubs and make NO attempt to integrate. Wish you would go home and stay there imperialist British the days of empire are over
The trickiest bit of it all: for those Britons to learn Spanish. It's so difficult for them to understand that Spain is not a British province, not an English-speaking country, and that you have to blend in. This is not valid for Spain only but as this video is about retirement in Spain...
That smarmy ing-lish makes one impotent. Plz go to Flur-rih-dah and talk this smarmy ing-lish with your non-trade-deal " friends " , but dont come to España.
In around the year 2035 Dumfries will have more retiree's than working people - so who is going to look after you when you become frailer or disabled - believe me i work there and trying to find carers for people who need them is nigh on impossible.
A good place for investment opportunities. Doncaster is changing and has the infrastructure needs for a modern city. The new developments in progress will help to make Doncaster a vibrant and prosperous city.
I lived there for a year in the mid-90s it was a wonderful palace to live in, and one of the happiest times in my life, a beautiful place ,beautiful people.
As an actual retiree who came to Scotland permanently four years ago, I nearly fell off my perch laughing at this. For starters Perth and Stirling are cities. Both are unspeakably grim although Perth nudges it as, apart from the bits overlooking the River Tay, it's just a decrepit mess. I drive 40 miles to shop there most weeks and it is always a depressing experience. Used to go to Stirling as a relief but that too is disintegrating and key businesses moving out of the uninspiring Thistle Centre. I can't comment on Kirkwall as I have yet to get to Orkney but it looks just as unappealing as Perth. Oban - the pinnacle of sea food? Really? Where? There is only one reason to go to Oban and that is to leave it on a ferry. I haven't been to Dumfries in many years and that video just reminded me why. The reality is that Scotland is, in some parts, a stunningly beautiful country so if you come here, and don't appreciate that, you'll likely be disappointed. But in those attractive areas, towns and villages are few and far between so you need to look and choose carefully. The quality varies considerably and much of the nicer ones are mainly Victorian - it's the "modern" additions that are the problem. Most of is is poor quality, cheaply built and looks utterly out of place. I'm not going to reveal where I live because it really IS one of those hidden gems and I'd quite like it to stay that way!
@@gillianlaing1073 you have obviously not been there or have been blindfolded when you were. I note you live in Perthshire as do I. The vast majority of the county is fabulous but its namesake city is a grotty pile of broken buildings, empty shops, dirty streets and tasteless housing. Yes there are some exceptions - Mill Street has been nicely restored for example and as I said in my original comment, the Georgian parts that overlook the Tay are or were handsome in their time. But most of what has followed is awful. The city is dying on its feet and nobody seems to care about it. Most Scottish cities are in a similar state which is a real shame because the rest of the actual countryside is fantastic. I'm sorry you don't agree but I am being objective, not looking through tartan glasses.
