So use the best tasting fish in the water to catch the worst tasting fish in the water ? Have fun with that I'll eat the crappie you can keep the trash fish
I saw this on the Boone Lake group, is this in Boone? I just started catfishing on Boone and have been successful with a few good sized flatheads. That blue is something else though!
Crappie is good eating. You need about 10 though. 2 crappie. You will still be hungry put it that way. Obviously he is fishing for sport. For big fish.
May I ask about your boat? What length/width is she.... it appears to be 5-7foot wide but I can't rightly tell thru the lens? We used a lot of wider boats in S.Louisiana when I lived down there. Very functional. peace & GB
Thank you Sir, I know you thought long/hard about getting just the ship so that you could bring all of this to the people. She is a nice vessel & thanks for all the hard work ! After all the fishing, all the video edits, then all the uploading comes more work ; someone has to clean that nice boat up for the next installment and I do appreciate that, I'll be here awaiting the next adventure. Until then, be safe & GB You/yours
All the people bellyaching over using a 14 inch crappie as bait for a flathead have clearly never tangled with a good sized flathead. Smallmouths and Flatheads are the 2 hardest fighting fish I've ever tangled with. But flattys get a lot bigger than smallies.
Boone is a sleeper for catfish Just like the striper in the 80s Nobody is really targeting the bigguns I like the winter for blues and fishing the deep broken rock bluffs for flatheads in the summer and fall
Most the fish caught on the 1st night were of a fairly consistant size/weight and if I were gonna eat them this is about the size I'd want ; 3-5lbs is about what I like to eat but I know you'd like a big flathead >> you'll get one.... I looked up Boone Lake, it's a long skinny waterway but there's a lot of lake to explore it all. I'd didn't look at any feeder creeks or where fresh flow could enter & you said nothing was moving so they aren't generating or letting water thru for their own reasons? You be safe & GB You/yours
How'd you attach those rod holders on back/corner of transom? I bet you got a video about it somewhere, perhaps I'll go looking for it but for now, cat fishing at Boone Lake. peace
@@ShiningLightFishing Any blues and flatheads. I know there are channel cats. I am new to the catfishing world and just looking for a place to catch a nice size one if the Lord's willing.
Man, I've had a small "Cat" fool around w/ my baits before where he ate 2 baits/hooks befoer getting wrapped in my 3rd line out. This appeared as getting hits/nibbles, me thinking I set the hook but then it feeling like nothing. I dealt w/ this for about 45 minutes one night as I drank beer(I quit now) but I couldn't figure out what I was dealing with until I reeled in a line, that made the other lines move like I was getting hits. When I got the whole mess reeled in; I had about a 1 pound catfish who had swallowed 2 hooks & had got wrapped into the 3rd line I had out. Everything was cut & redone... it was the strangest thing I'd ever had happen. I enjoy your fishing, reminds me of days passed. peace
Seeing you out in that rain & not being a deterrent.... Umm, the USPS ought to be calling you soon since they need people to start doing what their ad's used to claim. No matter the weather, they deliver...... but today they might not? peace man
Now eating size is my kind of fish. The big uns are fun but don't taste nowhere near as good. Besides, lot of the bluegill you use for bait I'd have cooked them too
