Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary is located close to Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, in the Western Area Peninsula National Park. This beautiful rainforest also protects the capital's primary watershed. The sanctuary covers 100 acres of the 17,688 hectare national park.
Tacugama was established in 1995 to enforce the law and rehabilitate confiscated, orphaned and abandoned chimpanzees with the aim to release back them into their natural habitat. Although it is illegal to hunt, capture, kill trade or own chimpanzees in Sierra Leone, sadly such practices still continue. The sanctuary now cares for about 75 chimpanzees in several forested enclosures. We are focused on the protection and conservation of chimpanzees and their habitat through education programmes, community sensitisation, field research and legal enforcement.
Chimps are pure evil and I quite frankly couldn't care less if they are mistreated or not. Chimps are absolute vile murderous creatures. I hope they are exrinct in my life time. I'll throw a big party. I've recently read where a Chimpanzees in Africa are kidnapping and murdering human children out of the small villages in the Congo. Id also read about a group of 4 escapes adult Chimps who ripped an innocent man apart, disemboweled him and ate his face. ! These are reputable people and reputable new stories. I think your doing a huge disservice by only portraying these animals as cute and playful beings. In reality they are very dangerous and some of the most evil animals Satan ever spawned on this planet

This incomplete and misleading video only shows the transfer of this animal from one poacher to another. What is really disgusting is that these poachers don't care about those poor children either.
