Nice one. I'm going to check out that Grey Area album, I've only got the self-titled one. I've got Victim in Pain on Bridge Nine vinyl but different cover, think its from 2010 or something. Lots of cool stuff on that label.
@@jamesmeldrum860 ah yes the brown cover? That one has the real cover inside if I’m not mistaken? Let me know what you think of Fanbelt Algabra aswell 👍🏻
1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Perfect album 2. Powerslave - Perfect album 3. Iron Maiden -Perfect album (for me) 4. The Number of the Beast - Almost perfect. Gangland is a very weak track and Invaders a bit also. It is a weak opening track. The rest of the album, including Total Eclipse, are pure perfection. 5. Piece of Mind - Almost perfect. Not as strong as a whole as TNOTB, but it does not have any tracks as weak as Invaders and Gangland either. 6. Somewhere in Time - Very good album, but not perfect. Heaven Can Wait is their weakest track from the 80s for me. Both lyrics and music. A bit better live than studio. Deja Vu has very cheesy lyrics and are at best ok+. Sea of Madness is also just ok for me. The rest of the album is perfection. Alexander the Great is one of their best songs through all time. 7. Killers - Very good album. Not a big fan of Drifter and Another Life is too repetative. The rest of the songs on this album I enjoy very much, but for me they are not as strong as the songs on the album Iron Maiden, maybe with the exception of the title track, Wrathchild and Purgatory. They are up there. 8. No Prayer for the Dying. Ok album, but I find it a bit boring. And it has no really big songs on it (that's my opinion). On the other hand it does not have any songs I dislike either. It is just a bit boring as a whole and easy to forget. No songs on this get stuck in my head. 9. Fear of the Dark - an album I almost want to call weak or at least not as good as ok. A rollercoaster of an album. It has 12 tracks on it, of those I hate 4, think 4 is barely ok and have 4 that I really love. The Apparition, Weekend Warrior, Fear is the Key and Chains of Misery are the four worst tracks for me that Iron Maiden have ever released. The title track, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Judas Be My Guide and Be Quick Or Be Dead are on the other hand perfect tracks. The rest that I have not mentioned are barely ok. The album is more exciting thsn No Prayer and it contains some stronger songs, but it also contains many (for Iron Maiden) horrible songs. Thats why I have this album behind No Prayer :)
50 years anniversary they will play Number of the beast, Run to the hills, fear of the dark and all the other songs people expect to hear. And then they ad some other songs
MY TOP 10 FROM ALL ALBUMS 1) STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND 2) THE TROOPER 3) TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT 4) KILLERS WITH PAUL 5) THE CLAIRVOYANT 6) FEAR OF THE DARK 7} PANCHENDALE 8) THE WRITINGS ON WALL 9) THE FINAL FRONTIER 10) BRIGHTER THAN A THOUSAND SUNS, .
1. Powerslave 2. Seventh Son 3. Somewhere in Time 4. Number of the Beast 5. Killers 6. Iron Maiden 7. Piece of Mind 8. No Prayer forthe Dying 9. Fear of the Dark The top five can change position but never drop out the top 5. Powerslave is usually my #1 every time.
I’m just going to say it but the fear of the dark album is not even close the being the best, I’m not saying it’s bad but not even close to being the best and I’m glad there are other people who agree
1. Number of the Beast; 2. Iron Maiden; 3. Seventh Son of a Sevent Son; 4. Powerslave; 5. Piece of Mind; 6. Killers; 7. Fear of the Dark; 8 Somewhere in Time; 9. No Prayer for the Dying
9) No Prayer For The Dying, 8) Fear Of The Dark, 7) Iron Maiden, 6) Killers, 5) The Number Of The Beast, 4) Powerslave, 3) Piece Of Mind, 2) Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, 1) Somewhere In Time
Hey mate! Saw your video popped up in my recommended and I thought “ooh go on” Love to see that you’ve got some love for the debut! Always respect people who chuck it higher than the average fan. Going off my photo, you can tell how high I rank it 😂 great video and subbed! 🤘🏻
@@Hptms The 'Fame' reissues of the first two albums were always in Woolworths for £3.25. I managed to get NOTB before that had a similar reissue, looks like you got Killers in time.
I actually agree with power slave as the #1. But Number or piece of mind im ok with as 1, 2 and 3. Killers is phenomenal.. Like many Maiden fans after NPFTD i kinda fell out with Maiden. I seen them a few years back and as good as the show was they only played a handful of classics and they were the typical ones. My mom wouldn't let me go see them in 84 for the live after death tour because i was only 12. I also missed the last tour of Van Halen because mom said i was to young . So i missed Maiden in they're prime and the last tour with Diamond Dave. Gotta love moms😂
1. Piece of Mind 2. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 3. Number of the Beast 4. Somewhere in Time 5. Powerslave 6. Killers 7. Fear of the Dark 8. Iron Maiden 9. No Prayer For the Dying
Great video. My ranking would be 1. Seventh Son 2. Killers 3. Iron Maiden 4. Piece Of Mind 5. Powerslave 6. The Number Of The Beast 7. Somewhere In Time 8. No Prayer 9. Fear Of The Dark I think side A of Piece is the strongest half of any of their albums, Where Eagles Dare drum intro is one of the greatest intros to any album ever
Yeah, Powerslave for me is definitely #1 but you have a few out of order in my book. My opinion, NPFTD is last & you definitely "under valued' Somewhere in Time. I'd also say I agree, Charlotte the Harlet live would be awesome.
My ranking of the first 9 9 - fear of the dark - has some great stuff on but is extremely unbalanced 8 - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son- don't get me wrong i love this album, i just don't find myself going back to it as much as the others 7 - no prayer for the dying - for me this album is underated. Every song has its moments and its enjoyable start to finish 6 - iron maiden - great debut. Only issue is di Anno's vocals sound like he has a sore throat (particularly on the title track) 5 - killers - absolutely love this album. Di anno is the only thing holding it back 4 - piece of mind - unbalanced as side 2 is significantly weaker but the highs are incredible 3 - number of the beast - if gangland was removed for total eclipse this could be number 1 2 - powerslave - super iconic. Only complaint is that half of this album is done far better on lad 1 - somewhere in time - my favourite album ever. No bad songs. Love the proggier sound (makes it even more confusing for myself why i don't love ssoass the same way)
What a BS. No Prayer is their worst album (not just from the 9 here)! Next Fear of the Dark. Iron Maiden. Killers. Powerslave. Piece of Mind. The Number of the Beast. Somewhere in Time and their best Seventh Son.
Great video! Your placing of 7th Son is a crime. But, of course, subjective lists are subjective!! I reviewed all the studio albums for my blog a couple of years ago and ranked them all so here's an edited list with just the first 9 albums... and the song from each that I would like to see them play! Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son - Infinite Dreams Powerslave - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner The Number of the Beast - 22 Acacia Avenue Somewhere in Time - Caught Somewhere In Time Iron Maiden - Charlotte The Harlot Piece of Mind - Die With Your Boots On Killers - Murders In The Rue Morgue Fear of the Dark - Afraid To Shoot Strangers No Prayer for the Dying - Run Silent Run Deep
His discussion actually put fear of the dark above it so I don't know why he didn't put in there… He literally called out 6 of the tracks on no prayer for the dying as "meh". The fact that he put SIT so low, shows he has very strange taste.SIT is "objectively" their most technically challenging album, so it should be higher just based on that, especially the guitars. But simply aesthetically SIT, for the futuristic sound and seamless transition from track to track puts it in the top 2 for sure
We're not quite on the same page. My ranking: 1. Seventh Son 2. piece of mind 3. somewhere in time 4. killers 5. powerslave 6. iron maiden 7. number of 8. Fear of the Dark 9. no prayer
@@JCStorm76 No doubt that No Prayer is the weakest of the first 9 albums, and perhaps one of the worst of all Maiden albums. Don't get me wrong, other bands would be happy to write an album like this at all. And FotD is only slightly better for me. Both albums are really no shining achievements in the Maiden back catalog.
Good video. I'd go from best to worst: 7th son, powerslave, number of beast, somewhere in time, fear, piece, no prayer, killers, iron maiden. Personally not that keen on di'anno era, bit too punk/rock n roll sounding, production worse and not as good a singer as bruce.
Thanks a million for the shout out bud, really appreciate it 🙂 Fear Of The ffff£%& Dark NOOOO! Be Quick Or Be Dead YES! I absolutely love that song. I'll go with From Here To Eternity as well, I really don't want Afraid To Shoot Strangers. Your last 3 in the rankings, as in your lowest 3, matched mine. Powerslave isn't my top album but my god it's absolutely amazing. Did you see my bass cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name? I did it earlier this year I think. I'm trying not to get excited, I'll get excited once I know we've got tickets. Mother Russia for me is the worst on No Prayer - I can't stand it lol. I absolutely love Hooks In You so I'd love them to play that but they won't. Tailgunner and Bring Your Daughter as well 😃 I absolutely love the Killers album, that was the first Maiden album I bought, strangely enough I played it earlier tonight as well. Great video all round though mate, I really enjoyed watching this ❤
Thanks my man!! I remembered your ranking video too. As for your bass video, hell yes I watched it! Superb stuff. I’m the same as you, I’ll only be truly happy if I have tickets! Fingers crossed for us both! 🤘🏻🤞🏻 thanks for watching buddy 💙
@jamesmeldrum860 Oh Wow really? I can't stand it. Everyone has different favourites though which is a healthy thing. I absolutely love both The Book Of Souls and Senjutsu albums, but they get slated. I absolutely love both Blaze Bayley era albums as well - however, I absolutely hate that God awful The Angel And The Gambler. I always found Mother Russia really depressing and the end bit with vocals sounds to me like it was made up as they went along. I really liked it when the album first came out but I just disliked it more and more as time went on. That being said, I'd welcome Mother Russia in the live set if it was to replace Fear Of The Dark!
@@rockgod2004 Books of Souls i like, especially Empire of the Clouds. Didn't think Senjutsu was as good. Agree with you on Angel and the Gambler. Blaze era has some good songs - Sign of the Cross and Como Estais Amigos come to mind.
Isn't there a second show on the Speak English Of Live DVD that can be accessed by adding a code? Huge fan of S.O.D from the beginning (or when news of them finally reached the UK). I remember the interviews Scott and Charlie gave promoting hardcore bands, made me go check out loads of bands that had passed me by. Got to see them in London in 99 (July 4th). Wasn't a huge fan of Bigger Than The Devil. I thought it was too metal sounding (and Nu Metal at that!) That's a sweet double album reissue. I think the bonus tracks are the Crab Society North demo (according to Discogs).
