let's be honest now - the I forgot to get a card, card is sometimes way better. I started just buying stacks of cards and carrying a few with me at all times. and then I started making a point of giving the wrong occasion card. the congratulations card on your upcoming blessed event didn't go over well at my niece's 14th birthday, i can tell you.
Every year, my dad bought my mum a card on her birthday but refused to take it out of the cellophane wrap and never wrote anything in it. When I noticed dad's particular pattern of behaviour with cards I asked him, "dad, why don't you ever sign mum's card", to which he replied, "so I don't have to buy her a new one next year"! Year after year though, he always bought a new card for her!
Hahaha at the end of the day...no excuse for not showing manners. Proper gets my goat when you hold the door for someone and they don't say thanks. Disgrace
