Hello my name is Amy and I created Amy's A Cut Above Creations so I could be creative and also show others how to do what I do. I am an artist, maker, teacher, and a content partner for Mas Epoxies.
I am not an expert at keeping mine clean. I hear a mild soap and water wash is good for cleaning them up but water drops can sometimes leave spots on the molds that can then transfer to the project. So making sure they are dry or leaving them upside down so the water can run out is a good idea. But double check some other places on the best way to do it.
@@amysacutabove yes water do leave it marks. I have washed mine with shampoo and water. Bcz one of my mold got so tiny tiny drops that I can't even remove it with tape. So I decided to wash it.
sounds like she was trying to patronize you by inviting you to her art show instead of giving tips from experience on how to fix it or talking about their resin experience…the inviting you to hers felt unnecessary.
Lovely! Has that resin ambered over time? I've tried 6 major brands & all have turned yellow at various stages, which, of course, looks like someone wee-d in a pool.😬🤪😉
🤣 I haven’t had that issue yet but all resin will eventually amber overtime. By using pigments that offsets that a little or at least makes it less noticeable. I have had pieces I have made around the same time as these and they are still bright white and blue. I know the brand I use Mas epoxies has a uv protectant in the art pro line that helps slow the yellowing.
THANK YOU! I have those exact coasters and have put so many layers. I was thinking I needed to do base color and waves separately. With large pieces I can add a small wave to first coat when I lay base coat. Again thanks. I was feeling overwhelmed
Flag I use for casting small items/molds. The Tabletop I use for doing oceans or top coats. The flag won’t leave your piece with a glossy glass like finish the way tabletop does. I will sometimes use flag for a base layer then finish with the tabletop.
