It's as simple as looking at other examples in the sonic zone names Aerobase from sonic pocket adventure doesn't have a space between and you still can get that the name suggests a base that can fly or It's in the air and not a weird wordplay thing, I think the same logic applies to Hydrocity being an ancient city (cities aren't exclusively the modern ones) full of water, like you can clearly see how it was a place the old echidnas used before you know..dying I just remembered. There's Lagoon city from sonic superstars which looks and sounds like hydrocity, the fact that they still reffer to it as a city just shows that it was the original intention with hydrocity since I've seen a lot of people saying "hydrocity is not a city" well. Lagoon city shouldn't be then and it should be called lagooncity as a stupid wordplay or something
I was 9 years old when the game came out back in 1994, and even I knew to pronounce it as *_HydroCity._* I mean, look at it! It is an underground city *_covered in water!_*
We're the same age, but I guess you just weren't smart enough to understand that the level name is actually a comment on how language evolves to include new expressions of moisture. I was. It's quite the pedestrian assumption that art can only convey a message at face value. It's HydroCity simply because it's a submerged metropolis? "Ceci n'est pas une pipe," and it really wasn't a pipe for you, and that's just the end of the story. Is that right? 😏
I have and will always pronounce it as "Hide-raw-city". It just works. I can't be the only one that thinks "Hydro City" sounds corny, right? Like yeah we get it, it's a city under the water. Hydrocity just sounds so much more interesting than fully pronouncing the "Hydro" and "City" separately...although I guess most of the sonic zones are self explanatory like that, but still. I go with the cooler sounding one 😤
Well, that assuming, that Spotify payments go fully to him. But they go to the label, and the label, apart of taking a cut, has to allot a portion to the rights-owners of the original content (as most Al's songs are parodies, and he always gets permissions for them).
Can anyone explain why this man's face was showing up for a split second everytime I closed out of making/editing a post on tumblr? It was this video specifically, it had his name at the bottom and everything, that's how I knew it was him. I looked him up over here on YT to try and find it, and this is definitely the right one. I've never seen this video in my life, nor have I ever even listened to him on Spotify, so I'm not sure why his face kept showing up on my screen. Am I being haunted by Weird Al? What is going on? Am I losing my mind?
if you passed the video on your feed, it can happen that while making a post the video appears at random, or even plays every time you press Space, it's a common Tumblr bug
A travesty of value transfer from artists to the streaming conglomerates. How is an artist supposed to live on a pittance? Al the perfect spokesperson to deliver this sardonic message to consumers.
@@jcolterh Actually he didn't. Al pays every artist he parodies royalties. Al only askes for a small percentage. Micheal Jackson and Chamillionare, ETC, are getting checks from AL. He gets full royalties for his original songs, which are less than half of his 14 studio albums, because every single artist on his polka medleys get most of the money. Al's not greedy, he does this because he loves it.
