With the scale and drama of this build, Jono’s gentle comedy, Jay’s shirtless dadbod and Jamie’s wet T-shirt winning entry. This is shaping up to be the best series so far. It may even surpass the airbnb build?? Really looking forward to the framing part, it’s going to be epic!
That was nothing short of a shit fight!! Almost looked like someone just cut the clouds open for a bit there. Huge porps to you all 90% of folks would have just downed tools and gone home for sure.
wow the conversion hassle you have in the us is so bonkers :O Just switch to metric all the way already :D. Aside from that always a blast to watch this videos.
Can't imagine how Jaime and Erik and the crew felt during this concrete pour, but on the outside you guys seemed to have kept your cool! Great job, Perkins Crew!
Perkins Builder Brothers, We have communicated with each other for several years. As an old Stone Mason, lock & Key builder, Concrete guy; We have all been caught by the Weather Guessers but now enhanced Radar tells us about the minute storms will hit. Why didn’t Yall call off the last 2 loads? Or, Why did Yall proceed with the last 3 trucks? I certainly understand, building is a gamble on weather and Farmers worry with it more! I almost lost 98 yards many years ago listening to the weather guesser. He cost me several hundred dollars in Portland and 6 mill plastic just to save the 60 yards already had on the ground. Mountain Rain storms are very different than flat land; I learned hard way! Question: if home owner is a grader by trade; why wasn’t there any 4” thick Crusher Run on that fresh cut driveway??? Makes no since???🤷🏼♂️
That was nuts. I had torrential downpours daily while renovating my house in 2020 and I was screaming and giving the sky the finger the entire time. You guys handled that situation better than I ever could.
I was stressed throughout the entire episode. I've had similar situations, but not as bad. I'm sorry that this happened to you. I hope you have a sunny day in the next concrete pour.
Hope some serious thought has went into a drain system around that house foundation because you just got a nice example of whats going to happen everytime it rains.
I’m a young structural engineer and I love getting to see the on site side of how all this gets done. I’ve done a few custom homes in y’all’s area so it’s cool to see some of the struggles and triumphs and imagine how my own projects are going!
I really like your work boys. One thing though. Backfilling PVC pipe trenching with rocky dirt is perhaps not a good thing as the rocks can puncture the pipes. A layer of clean soil first is a better option. Any comments? :)
Aluminum reacts with concrete to produce hydrogen gas. It causes a bunch of bubbles in the concrete. Aluminum components that are embedded in concrete usually need a coating on them.
