I actually did my 04.5 in the truck took intercooler out and got a pivot tip for pressure washer so I could clean straight on and didn't bent any fins but cleaned it up nicely I used purple power and simple green now have an 08 gotta do it to
I wouldn' rule it out completely but I would say this is NOT likely the issue. This has a bit of a delayed reaction to the instrument cluster, thus flickering would not be likely.
Thanks! A very useful video, but I think you should not clean the contacts with sandpaper, since most likely they contain a special coating that you have cleaned off.. It is enough to wipe them with alcohol..From Russia with love! I have such a car, I think I have to repeat your work.. 🤔👍Андрей.
thank you sir.. i will try.. i can t see level of fuel on my ford and i don t want to buy the entire fuel pump that still work... and i can t find only the fuel sensor -_- sad
I'm glad I found your video. My 2004 GMC 2500 gets hot after I drive a short distance and shut my truck off. Crazy huh? Anyway this gives me a starting point to troubleshoot my problem. Great video and info. Thanks for posting.
Hi Jared....can you please elaborate on the indications that got you to diagnose? I recently had the gauge stay on full after at least 15 gals had been used....then all of a sudden went to E with low fuel light on. When I recycled ignition an hour later...back to full with no low fuel light. Please let me know if these are similar to what you had? Seems tough to diagnose from all I have been reading between sending units, stepper motors, and clusters. Thank you...
Sounds like the same problem. Mine would typically read full when I filled it up, then it would co to use to read full for days of daily driving. Then out of the blue it would read 1/4, or empty with the light on. Sometimes I would fill it up and it would still read empty with the light on. Typically, whatever it read, it would be stuck in the same position for several days and then it would jump. Occasionally it would read correctly for a week or so at a time before going back to reading incorrectly
I removed all you have removed. A bracket on the passenger side of the radiator was hitting the intercooler tube. I could not get the radiator out of the truck. What did I miss doing for this removal?
At 2:35 that was the only bracket I had to disconnect on mine. Maybe a year or two difference in your truck vs mine, where they added or removed the bracket!
Hi, congrats I'm glad that it worked out for you. I have a question. My gas gauge is a little off and I'm getting horrible mpg! I'm norm at half a tank around 100 miles. I'm thinking it could possibly be the fuel float as well. When I was on 3/4 i was at 40 miles. So I went to fill up and it stopped at 2.5 gallons. Do you think if I do this same fix to mine my prob will be resolved? Btw I have a digital gas gauge and I drive an 07 Nissan Sentra 2.0. TIA 🙏🏾
So wouldn't it be easier or better to replace with new and if so do you just replace level sensor or whole sending unit and / or both? If you have it apart and you think you fixed it but it doesn't work after you put it back together.... My guage works but periodically drops to empty. A few times it came back up to full and other times afrer I shut the truck off and restarted it, it popped up to full. I have no low fuel lights, no codes. Truck is 2008 LMM duramax 1 ton dually. I don't know if it is 1st design, 2nd design. I have a 42 gallon auxiliary diesel fuel tank in the bed as the stock tank in the truck is like 24 or 26 gallons.
