Only an idiot would put an additional lens block on a dark and cheap lens with a small lens aperture resolution. The result is a soapy and dark image, even with the most expensive teleconverter. Moreover, a teleconverter on a crop is not recommended, because the crop is initially dark. The teleconverter goes well only with a full frame, with a high-aperture lens that has ringing sharpness and, most importantly, the lens must be fast with an aperture of at least f2.8, then everything will be clearly visible and autofocus will work perfectly. At the same time, I really liked the sigma teleconverter (even the old version) because it has Japanese glass and because it is three times cheaper than its competitor Canon-2x III, but at the same time it is almost not inferior in picture quality. Some say that teleconverters do nothing and their increase is not real and does not give details, as if it is equal to a crop from a regular picture, if it is simply enlarged in Photoshop. im a enthusiastic wildlife photographer as well being a blind phitigrapher and currently use nikon z7 mirrorles with 24-200 z lens but looking for a wildlife lens and was wondering if this would be a good considerable lens to look as if i had budget would be looking at 500mm f5.6
Does the sigma mc-11 not work with it?? I was thinking about getting one of these old lenses because of the price. I'd imagine it should work with the sigma adapter. My old Canon lenses work fine on it
Not one of the example photos actually had a family in it. Why would you title this video Family Photography when it's just a lens commercial having nothing to do with families?
Is 2020 now, I wonder whether they can make a smaller, more reasonably priced and better version of this lens? The 150-600mm has been a success, if they can make a 300-800mm just slightly bigger and slightly more expensive than that lens, I think a ton of people would buy it.

I recently bought this lens, loves it. My only issue is the tripod collar. Is there any replacement out there that one can use to carry this lens? Great lens, very sharp. It on my Nikon D750.
late answer but for anyone wondering: if your dslr is a aps-c = cropped frame, teleconverters aren't recommend because your camera is already cropped (versus full body camera) maximum aperture (f point) will be smaller and focusing will be slower
Hi there. Can you tell me what effect this will have on an 8-16mm A mount - Aps-c lens on a A7r2 (fullframe) with the leae adapter?. As of now there is a hard vignette on 8mm due to the Aps-c. On 16mm there is no vignette. Will this adapter make the lense usable on 8mm? Thanx :-)
