Not wanting to waste the multicultural opportunity staring us right in the eye, we would like to make some fun and, hopefully, entertaining videos! We're all new to this, so we hope to receive all the supports and constructive suggestions that you have for us!
The world is a stressful place, but it's filled with brimming beauty. Let us take a long, relax look at this -- The Beauty of Difference.
Enikő and Tünde are not from the same poet. She accidentally says so or I am the one who misheared, but Enikő is from Mihály Vörösmarty, and Tünde is from Csokonai. :) Anyways it is an interesting video, how they were thinking because of the sound of the names.
Egyáltalán a nagybácsi, nagynéni....
Kukuríkú török császár, add vissza a gyémánt félkrajcáromat!
Nárcisz:Rémlik valami görög mitológiai alak, Narcissus, aki beleszeret a saját tóbeli tükörképébe. Boglárka: Mifelénk lány keresztnév is! Pipacs: másképpen mákvirág. Ami átvitt értelemben negatív jelző egy személye, Lehetett volna még a büdöske, vagy a pongyolapitypang - azaz gyermekláncfű, itt kétfelé kellen bontani a magyarázatot, miszerint mi a pongyola? Hogy jön az ide? A láncfű persze adja magát! Melyik gyerek nem fűzött a szárából nyakláncot?!
So funny to see you guys having some problems with hungarian names! I'm hungarian, and I always liked how english people are intrested in my country meanwhile our names are so natural for us! Btw... we have some REALLY weird names I have to say. I don't know... maybe Radiátor? This is a female name, I can't belive it really exists!
my name is Enikő and I am very proud of my name. it is connected to the myth of the origin of the Hungarians. Meaning: female deer and the deer is my favorite animal. you know, the name obliges.
Listening it whit a hungarian knowledge (I'm Hungarian) it sounds funny at the end. But I wonder If I ask MY name, have they answer it correctly 'cause i have a very easy name called: Sára. And in english it's called like: Sarah
The synonymous name of hibiscus is mályvarózsa. There is a tropical one, it is a houseplant, but syriacus can be found as a garden hedge plant. In Latin, hibiscus is also the same as rosa in English. In Latin, both mean a whole taxonomic family. The popular name of daisy is pipitér. The picture shows the poppies, but the mák also belong to the same family. The seeds of the latter are in the poppy cookies. And yes, opium is made from the sap of this plant. But! There are no opium-containing "poppies" in Hungary. The logo of the Alkaloida pharmaceutical company is also the poppy cocoon. This factory produced opiate-based pain relievers from poppy cocoon. By the way, many ornamental plants have several Hungarian names. That's why I prefer Latin.
buttercup...interesting i think is a milk thing kap=get in magyar, or to capture, same root: kap/cap, cup butter cup = will have butter, in magyar tej oltó, you put it in milk and will separate the fat from water like part=savó (acidic, sauer) butter=milk fat sure buttercup was used to get/capture milkfat=butter ... be= in, into(magyar, hungarian) tör=brake betör= break in (a horse, a door..or a butt-ter, butt-er...) bátor=brave peanut butter?!
@@davethesid8960 szó=word szóval=by words szóval= so well shu=egyptian windgod shu=szó/word szél=wind in magyar (need for sail) be szél= wind in beszél=speaks szél=say.... i love dummies
@@mockermuris All I'm saying is that, for example, szóval and so well have nothing to do with each other, it's a mere coincidence that they sound similar.
The buttercup is actually gólyahír. It means "stork news", because it blooms in spring when storks are coming back from Africa. It is in the same group as the boglárka, but not the same flower. :)
As a Czech person who's learning Hungarian, I've always found "százszorszép" funny, because the Czech name for the flower - "sedmikráska" - means "little seven-fold beauty". Does that mean Hungarian daisies are about 14 times prettier than Czech ones?
Woow thank you for learning our weird and hard language! It always makes me happy when a foreigner learns Hungarian!🥰 How do you find Hungarian? It is hard for you? I also learnt some Czech and the pronunciation of the letters are pretty similar! š = s, ť = ty, ď = gy, ž = zs, č = cs, á ~ á, ó = ó, ú = ú, j = j etc…
A malaysian story more similar than Hungarian folk tales. I do not understand why this Hungarian tale was selected. That was a real pure choice. I do not know who is the Hungarian person, but really has a poor Hungarian cultural knowledge.
Exactly! This is why we picked it as one of the characters for this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h3shueTAnGo.htmlsi=cGEc-tMVEwtLiPnT
Szia Petra!!
And here I was expecting some Janos, Gyury, Istvan, Ilonko, Zsuzsa, Csaba, Levente,etc... Also, I thought Botond was a last name kinda deal, like Nagy, Islai, Bojte, Gyulai, etc.
It is crazy that she checks the votes every single time. The papers are double sided so if you see boy, the vote is girl and vica versa. Anyway it was a fun game. Cheers
When the Bojtorján band appeared on the David Letterman show ( 1983) , their leader was renamed Viktor because Mr. Letterman couldn't say Győző. The song is Where the lazy river ( Ahol a lusta folyó) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7zuhFwAJ3VQ.html&ab_channel=csibi50 There is also a song with Karolina and Viktória..
