VOCES CORDIS (Voices of the Heart) was established in February 2022 by André van der Merwe. The choir consists of 80 choristers from across the Cape Peninsula in South Africa, aged between 18 and 50.
André established the group as a continuation of his work with the Stellenbosch University Choir and the Stellenberg Girls Choir. Many of the Voces Cordis members are allumni of his previous choirs. Adults who pursue various professional careers now get a podium to continue their passion for ensemble singing.
Since February the choir has appeared on national television, performed with Nataniël at the Grand West, and was invited to perform at the Woordfees Art Festival in Stellenbosch.
Absolutely, "WOW!" I've been wondering when your next series of concerts would make an appearance and can only say this is beyond expectation. Keep up this brilliant initiative.
Wow, I heard for the first time the lilt in the song that I have been waiting to hear from the so many other choral groups that have sung this beautiful Visayan song,
This is my native language. Whenever I hear this song, it brings me back home. Question though, was the lyrics intentionally changed? In the original lyrics, it's Dodong, not Nonoy. And the part that says "nagtan-aw si Inday" it's supposed to be "nagtan-aw kang Inday". You just shifted the POV. It's supposed to be Dodong staring at Inday - drooling. Not Inday staring at Dodong - drooling. You just made her (Inday) a pervert here by changing the lyrics to "nagtan-aw si Inday". Hahahaha.
Correct Intawon usab SI Dodoy Nag tan aw (Kang) Inday Nagtabisay Ang laway Not Intawon usab SI Dodong Nag tan aw (SI) Inday Nagtabisay Ang laway. I am a Cebuano and the change of preposition from "Kang" to "SI" changes the entire meaning. Si Dodong nagtan aw Kang Inday nagtabisay Ang laway means The man is looking at the woman with so much liking and appreciation figuratively salivating like a a person looking at a sumptuous meal. Intawon usab SI Dodong nagtan aw SI Inday nagtabisay Ang Laway means the woman is the one who is figuratively salivating, showing her longing And intense liking to the man which of course not the case of a traditional Filipino woman who is very modest and shy.
Not "nagtan aw si Inday" Inday was not the one watching but it was the guy who was watching while drooling. The lyric has to be "nagtan aw kang inday" ... SI and KANG are vastly different. And yes, the guy's name is not Nonoy, but Dodong. Where the heck are you getting your messed up lyrics?
Amazing! May I also suggest you try Filipino Christmas songs. Those are also sang chorale-style and should turn out equally amazing with the right arrangements 💯💞✨
