I'm 15 minutes into character creation, having a blast, and wondering how on Earth so few watched and l liked this piece of RPG extravaganza. Getting inspired to run this game for my local group next week, this is really great.
i love these play throughs they do however you'd think that the guy helping design the game and promoting the virtual desktop would take a bit of time to learn how to set things up before hand. I'm sure 'Alchemy' can make their own how-to video

Thanks for this video. I'm now preparing to run Very Good Dogs. I recently got excited about a Bronze Age sword-and-sorcery RPG, but I decided I needed some more experience as a GM before taking on something so involved. When I stumbled upon VGD, I knew this was what I needed. I have more familiarity than most people with the real-world counterpart of the setting because, about a year after the Chernobyl event, I started working for the government as a Soviet analyst. I've also been fascinated with how the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone has become an unplanned wildlife preserve. A common trope of the horror genre is that outsiders - e.g., children, elderly immigrants, priests or scholars out of favor with their hierarchy - are the only ones who understand what is going on, while the usual authority figures are blind to the supernatural reality. Making telepathic dogs the heroic outsiders striving to hold back the incursion of evil actually makes sense within the supernatural horror genre conventions and the post-human setting. The one resource I would really like to facilitate my planning would be a map of the Chernobyl region. I know dogs can't read maps, but for a GM who thinks in spatial and visual terms it would be very useful.
I just received my copy of maze’s RPG, and I’m not seeing anything about movement or a mechanic that uses movement. Do you just use a moment to move up and attack or move up and do whatever it is you wanna do? Is that how you’re supposed to use that moment?

I'd like to ask for some clarifications. I tried over on RPG, but the Mazes page doesn't seem to get responses, so I will also ask here: A few things are a bit unclear in the rules, specifically regarding Advances. On page 65, it gives the basic Edge list, splitting the 44 Edge into 7 groups, one of which is Advances. On page 73, it says that “Advances are not usually available to starting characters (though there are always exceptions.)” It then lists 36 Edges, which includes most of the Basic Edges list. This seems to suggest that the only Edges available to new characters are Beautiful, Bugbear, Charming, Cunning, Ilf, Keen, Smallfolk, and Young. Is this correct? Then, according to page, 53, a character gets an Advance after their second adventure. It seems that this is the one and only time they do so. So a character who has 100 adventures grows in knowledge and skill after the 2nd, but never again. Am I understanding correctly? Thanks for any clarifications you can give.
AI indeed is theft, and no less than theft of the human soul. It takes whatever you create - from your human essense, and turns it to replase you and eventually against you. Everythign you post online, chat feed posts, photos, images...that human flame that made you create and post it, is stolen - to develope artificial creation. Don't give away your soul by feeding it, or consuming it.
I purchased this at PAX Unplugged last year and it has been sitting in my unplayed pile since. Thank you for putting out this video! A simple how-to video like this makes a huge difference, and I am excited to dust off my copy and get it on the table.
