I currently have two set-ups depending on the lure(s) used. Both rods are St. Croix - one is 7'6" medium heavy and the other is 8'0" heavy. I have the Abu Garcia C4 on the 7'6" and the Abu Garcia Revo Toro Winch on the 8'0". I have 30lb Power Pro braid on the setup with the C4 and 50lbs Power Pro braid on the setup with the Revo Toro. Using 80 lb fluoro carbon leaders on both setups. Both work wonderfully, again depends on the size of lure you are throwing as well as the type of retrieve you are using with it. Sometimes you need the higher gear ration, while other times the lower ratio is better. Good luck and hopefully you catch a 50' incher!!
He should be on here more.. Bill Sandy has been fishing for 45+ years. He is an amazing Musky fisherman! The best. He has caught more muskies than any of your so considered "pro" fisherman. Watching him is an art. Nothing short but AMAZING!!
Yep, same as the other guy said, I have the mojo musky 8' heavy st.croix and it is amazing. I also have the Abu garcia C4 reel with 65 lbs line. Its great.
hi i just started musky fishing and i was wondering what the best overall rod/reel combination would be for me. i want to be able to throw heavier stuff. thanks for great vids.
