Hey if you didn't know me and my friends had an SMP a while back and I made 3 videos on it... here's the first one -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Z5WzZr8zrY.html
You probably don’t care but assuming you do I’ll give you some tips/constructive criticism for your video because this was great for a first video and I personally would love to see more videos from you: 1) The occasional use of memes was great, and you definitely should keep using them. Don’t overdo them as when the memes are overdone it makes the video feel unorganized and kind of like a TikTok video (it’ll feel like an ADHD overload with a lack of control and an excess of obnoxious stimuli). The quantity of memes you used and the times when you used them was perfect. For example, the memes at 3:51 and 4:06 in such quick succession caught me off guard and made them a little bit funnier than if they were to be spaced out randomly in the video. The combination of sound bytes that are well known for their “meme status” and simple effects such as a quick pan, zoom, or sudden grayscale are also a nice touch that can add way more character and personality to a video. 2) The various soundtracks you used over your voice throughout the video were a tad bit loud. I’m not sure how many DB you reduced it by but from my own personal experiences and the dozens of RU-vid videos I’ve watched where the DB level was mentioned that between -12 to -16 DB is a great, relatively safe range when you’re overlaying audio with a voice recording. This is a minor detail and more of a pet peeve. It wasn’t too loud or too quiet but if you’re trying to perfect your videos I do think it could be slightly quieter. 3) You seem like you’re relatively intelligent, if not beyond that. Feel free to write a generalized script that you loosely follow and when a moment comes around that allows you to, include some witty humor. I sensed some throughout the video and I personally really enjoy that type of humor. 4) The intro to the video was amazing. It reminded me a ton of SalC1, whom I assume you took a bit of inspiration from in making this video, and his videos are very well done, and feel like they have a ton of production value, just like this one did. One thing I will say is I noticed that your third person footage of you zooming out while your in-game character was doing things was a bit off, as at some points it would seem to jolt from side to side and wasn’t as smooth as it could be. If it were a bit smoother it would be much easier on the eyes and would give the intro the same comfy, welcoming feeling that SalC1’s videos radiate in both the beginnings and endings of the videos. 5) You probably can’t control this but your voice seemed a little echoey and I would like to say that’s because of a lack of sound-absorbing foam, or something similar. Over all your voice is easy on the ears and it doesn’t sound like you’re putting too much emphasis on minor things like almost every RU-vidr does, whether it’s FitMC or MrBeast. Almost every RU-vidr does this to retain viewers by exciting them but I personally dislike this characteristic of most RU-vidrs since it’s so disingenuous and so exaggerated. It feels forced and makes me think they’re not genuinely enjoying their content or don’t have confidence what they’re making. Listen, this was by no means meant to make you feel like you did a bad job. This is by far the best first video I’ve ever seen from any channel. The reason I spent over thirty minutes typing this review on my phone is because I genuinely think you have potential. This video was engaging, entertaining, and soothing, and for someone with no audience or supporters, was extremely well done. I genuinely thought you had stolen this video before I realized your skin in the video was the same as the one in your RU-vid profile picture. I hope you didn’t take offense to anything I said here because my intent was not to offend you, rather to praise you and hopefully help you out a little. I really hope to see some new videos from you soon!
